They get no credit on the kill honestly in my books due to the glitch. Cheating to kill a mob does not mean you get credit on a world first. Same as cheating in RL gets your achievements stripped from you same here.
I do give them props for reporting it, not many would. It is probably a good thing they did though, it might save their account. I am almost positive SE would of looked at who ever beat it.
SE is known for taking a hard stance against exploiters. They banned 5% of their population in XI and banned/rolled back alot of people at the launch of XIV 1.0 for exploited bugs.
If we want to get caught up on semantics, the testers were the first to see the cutscenes and "dungeon complete" notice. Though competitively speaking, "World First" is a term used to designate the first true and honest kill that didn't use a cheat or exploit. To say they were the first to beat the dungeon because they saw cutscenes and words is tantamount to saying that I got a world first because I saw said cutscenes leaked on the internet before anyone actually honestly beat it. They are getting their items taken away (thus they have seen the same things I have with no benefit) with possible disciplinary actions taken against them due to ample warnings when it came to Titan (though the action itself may just be the warning).
To claim trivialities when it concerns the fact of the matter, anything can be twisted into truth. Thus we hold ourselves to standards and rule sets to dictate what is true and what is fabricated nonsense. If one were to use this, in my opinion cheap tactic, just so that they aren't proven (or admit) they are wrong then this is where any argument of substantial worth ends. The point of most arguments, after all, is to learn or teach and not to boast knowledge or bend the rules just to save face.
This is especially true when it is implied by the person in question that said guild is "elite" for cheating. It allows for one to assume (along with the title) that an actual World First was made as dictated by social norms with raiding games and not just twisting words to again twist arms.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing). German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century. Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now). I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things). In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while. If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.
Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this. If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own. Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis. Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.
All I am doing is stating the facts here. There is no need to get all defensive over the obvious. They were the first to finish the content, there is nothing more to be said on that end.
On the end that it is too easy: Crystal Tower is suppose to be "lower" in terms of skill and gear. With people being Coil, Crystal is going to be a breeze. They need to push out something for those who are progressing faster.
With the Coil being possible to complete easily and the Crystal Tower being a lower skilled raid, it makes you wonder what they are going to do for all these guilds that are coming across the finish line.
They abused a glitch that makes the boss not do anything from 80% on. This is not a world first and they hopefully get banned soon.
You can't really abuse a glitch if it happens out of your control. Considering the measures the FC took after the boss was finished such as the detailed bug report, you sir are one jealous individual.

Erm, no they don't....
