Hard Modes

in Final Fantasy XIV

Well I have just completed all the hard modes and let me tell you they were actually pretty damn hard. The first one (Ifrit) was pretty straight forward but still took a few attempts to get him down, Garuda was definitely more of a welcome to end game and Titan was throw your face at him for a week til you are good enough to kill him. Was not an easy task and for those of you interested in checking out any of these fights I have videos below, especially recommend the Titan fight because that took me over 50 attempts to get down.

I know that the fights can look pretty easy, even Titan, but trust me when you are in there it is tough and you need to memorize his rotation for all 5 phases in order to stand a chance at getting through. Anyway enjoy and let me know what your experience has been with the hard modes so far.

    You must be kidding me, the GCD is 2.5 seconds how could this game be challenging?
    Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".

    Over half my abilities don't go on GCD and at lvl 50 the GCD is closer to 2 seconds. So I can pretty much use an ability every second depending on whats up. I really wouldn't judge the game and its difficulty off that alone unless you have played through to lvl 50 and find it that simple.

    I guess it's hard to tell the difference when reading text, it really could go either way base don what he said.

     Yeah, the titan fight in my opinion is the hardest primal fight at the moment and it's also takes the longest to take down. However, once you know the rotation the fight becomes extremely easy and you'll breeze through it with no problem. Thankfully that fight doesn't have much RNG.

     As for the Titan video within the first 30 seconds the person talking states that people should be generally stacked for Weight of the land. That's actually an extremely bad idea especially when you're reaching the final phase of Titan. You all actually want to spread out to dodge. The reason to spread out is so your team can guarantee that they won't take damage from multiple Weight of the lands. You can survive a single Weight of the land and if you know you're going to get hit. It's best to make sure to only to get hit by one. While roughly two Weight of the lands can/will kill you so stacking is a very bad idea for that mechanic.

     Overall I do like the some what overall difficulty they have in the game currently and I'm hoping that they keep taking it up a notch as future content is released.

    Yeah my group used the stacking technique because we were confident that none of us would get hit but I do mention at the end of the video that other people like to spread out in order to make sure they don't die if they get hit by the plume. It really just depends on what you prefer and I do say to go with whichever way works best for you.

    Exactly! Despite having almost nothing in common with WoW, this game is a dumbed down WoW clone which takes no skill to play. All I have to say to the OP is, "Durr, now go beat a real game scrub! Herp derp derp!" *drools*

    Sarcasm aside, congratulations. I'd like to watch the video, but would prefer not to ruin things for myself. I'm still a long way off from endgame, and I like to learn things myself. Hopefully I'll find a like-minded FC eventually.

    Sarcasm aside, the high end raiding in WOW is pretty hard too. People just love to hate on WOW but no one ever mentions the hard raids.

    You might want to watch a video at 50 before confronting titan it's not forgiving.

    It's hard to remember all his phases attack rotation I had to write them on a piece of paper lol.

    I definitely studied guides and did my best to memorize everything before I went in but I still struggled until I had a heap of experience. I actually have 2 monitors and had the rotation up on the 2nd xD
