The thing is, nothing in that chart is endgame except for the Binding Coil of Bahamut. Everything else is (for the most part) extremely easy. They are tiny stepping stones to get there. I was able to experience everything in that chart (minus the Coil and the +1relic) in just a little over a week's time... and I wasn't even trying that hard. I was even able to beat Titan's Hard Mode in just after 1 try (I did watch Shepard's video a couple of times before attempting it).

Overall though, that entire chart is a brisk walk in the park. Like others have said, the "actual" challenge doesn't start till Coil #4 and #5. All those dungeons in that chart are very simple with one or two mechanics in them. Ifrit has been completely dumbed down from version 1.0 with basically all of his moves; Garuda thankfully not so much.

My first character I farmed FATES all day long and basically got to 50 in a week . Then I farmed the same 8 man dungeon about 37 times which took a few days to get enough seals to get my darklight armor .  I then proceeded to farm hardmode primal to get my weapon which didn't take too long since I was only warrior that could roll on the weapon.

There is 1 end game raid dungeon but I never got to that because guild is taking their time which is good .

Also if you are healer or a tank you can gear up super fast compared to dps .  You can pretty much run dungeons and do primals  all day long non stop .

So basically the best part of the game is levelling from about 15- 50   .  If you didn't do a single fate you would actually have a lot more content .

LOL people like this guy make me laugh.....

They join every new MMO, then they skip quests, skip the story as much as possible, and grind boring stuff over and over for god knows how many hours a day until they are at the max level.

Then they complain that the game got boring hahahahah.

This is an RPG by Square-Enix. The story and leveling 1-50 is one of the major fun parts of the game. They still do not have PVP, Golden saucer casino(mini games like cards, maybe choco racing, snowboarding), housing, chocobo breeding/ranch, and tons of other planned content in the game. Why would you rush knowing this?

    Clearly this game is casual.

End game grind is sophisticated and involved and time consuming.

    Clearly this game is casual.

DPS requires thought and co-ordination and skill.  (Source, I have a parser, most people are completely terrible at it)

    Clearly this game is casual.

Bosses require you to move, think, react.

    Clearly this game is casual.

Link to you killing Titan please?

Sorry, it's just every time we get to a discussion on difficulty everyone says everything is sooooo easy and that anyone in their sleep can do it.  Yet in every group I run I see people die to entirely avoidable mechanics, so I'm thinking the average player is far less reactive, or perhaps smart, than they like to think they are.

If this isn't an "end game" chart, why is all of the things on it AFTER the end of the game?  I.E. hitting 50 and seeing the credits roll.

Edit:  Titan kills sell for 700k on my server... so if it was soooo easy then I think it would probably not sell for a small fortune, also a lot of people would have killed it, yet they haven't...

Easy for you is not easy for the population of MMO players.  A lot of us like to think we're hard core, but that rarely holds up in action.

Leveling is fun in this game?  Uh....what?  You mean doing a massive amount of "Kill 10 Rat" quests is fun....because that is what you are doing.  Good luck once you start working on other classes and all those "Kill 10 Rat" quests are gone because you did them.  Now you get to level with FATES.....come, join the endless brigade of people following one glowy spot on a map to another.  Click a button, maybe two if you are fast before a mob dies.  Do this 1000 times and you too can max another character class.

Leveling is anything but fun in this game.  One the biggest selling points of the game (multi class) is hampered by the fact that once you do quests they are gone....

The game works and is pretty good for what it is, another WOW like themepark MMO.  Nothing wrong with that.  But don't try to come here and tell us that "leveling is fun" because it is not.

I'ma let you finish but... here is where I could tell you have not actually played this game.

If you think FATE's are "kill 10 rat quests" you should just stop playing RPGs, you clearly have lost the luster for it, the enjoyment found in playing RPGs.

    I'm serious.

You have found a way to boil ALL the fun and depth and content out of ANY situation and sap all the story, reason, logic, and backround out of it.

You literally killed the fun for yourself.

    I'll wait.

I agree, slow down enjoy the journey, the endgame will still be there and be better and more abundant if you do.

FFXIV isn't competing for time and money against just released MMOs. It's competing against every game on the market, some of which have a great deal of content available at end game.

Would rather play this than Siege of Org.

No other MMO has any relevant end game, oh except EvE which is it's own ball of wax.

    You misunderstand him/her.

S/he's just saying that there is not enough content for the fraction of a fraction of players who have gotten to lvl50 AND running Coil 4-5 stating everything else is "easy".

I, too, find it unbelievable that SE hasn't created 10+ events for these couple hundred, maybe a thousand players who find everything below turn 5 "non-endgame".

Thankfully for the hundreds of thousands of people who have yet to attain such a level of skill and superiority all those events in the chart are very much "endgame" in all the definitions of the word.

Option 2: Any old school Korean MMOs with 400+ levels, because you don't reach endgame.

    Bruhahahaha good one there!

@OP - good thing I'm a professional slacker in almost any game. Been playing since release (no headstart) and still haven't hit even 20. Enjoying the game way too much and a lot of it's aspects to rush though it and get to 50 and get bored...

And yeah, most new MMOs don't have a lot of end-game. When I look at FFXI, there's a lot of good end-game potential to be waiting for. Might take a while, but I'm pretty sure the amount of end-game will be more soon...

Thankfully I'm not at Coil #4-#5 yet. To be honest it doesn't take that much skill to get to the point where I am. A little bit of determination, not letting any flack (from others) get to you, and reading up on the fights and maybe watching a video once or twice will get that chart done in a week or two... minus the relic+1 and coil. It was stated here:

that existing high level content will be reduced in difficulty. I have no problem with that. But when they continue to make the game easier and easier (compare the dungeons and Ifrit and to some extent Garuda from 1.0 to 2.0) and it does get a bit frustrating. I mean the level that they dumbed down those dungeons and especially Ifrit is just... I don't know why have %99 of the content "seem" like it is almost handed to you.

Well he did ask for pictures, since I guess in 2013 we need proof about beating Titan Hard mode... ask and ye shall receive. The game is fun tough! But the challenge... needs work! Incoming pics with really bad placed UI and ILVL 55 gear... yes you heard right ILVL 55 gear on my first try on Titan HM. Go figure!

Who're you talking about? If it took you that long, it'll take the common joe at least thrice as long. And that's if they dedicate themselves to it instead of doing anything else.

That's because the same applies to the rest of the game. You are a fraction of a fraction of a playerbase. What you can do =/= what everyone else can (or wants to) do.

Seems like the first patch (2.1) fleshes out endgame quite a bit better than what we have now.

It's due in November if I remember right, so not too terribly long.   Not making excuses for the game or anything, but stuff is coming at least.

So let me get this straight.. you haven't even done the end-game because you're waiting on your FC, but it sucks? You are stating something sucks that you haven't even done. Logic.

    MMO veteran here.

FFXIV's endgame right now is above par, but hardly entertaining. I can't think of a single MMO that had a good endgame at launch, and FFXIV continues that sad heritage. It has a couple great experiences dipped in some god awful ones such as running CM 52 times with it having no drops, just currency, and a lack of anything to do besides dungeons. I mean, come on, give me a reason to explore the world or something.

yea I've been p laying hard for about 2 days now, sitting at 23 Pugilist and 20 Goldsmith and I'm just taking my time actually checking things out and standing in awe at the many sights and scenes in the game. It's amazing... I feel like they emulated the perfect old school FF feel right into an MMO universe. So fun! Pugilist is fun, looking forward to Monk.

And its sad that as a veteran(like me) you still havent realized that the best part of most MMO's is getting to end game, not end game itself.  In case you havent noticed, the people who raced to end game are the complainers, the ones who love it are the ones taking their time.

People who focus only one class don't even need to 'race'. Play game casually and you will be 50 in couple of weeks..granted you are focused and not leveling multiple classes. Stop telling people they rushed...not everyone fate grinded on their very first class.

  • xpsyncxpsync Member EpicPosts: 1,854
The option to level too fast is available in every game. If this is what you solely obsess on then it's lightening fast. Why level as fast as humanly possible? This is a problem due to the option, not a complaint. No one is forcing a player to be a content locust lemming.

I've been playing since launch and am 26. Why? Mainly, whats the rush? Play the game the way it's meant to be played would be a good start. There is literally tons to do on the same character, mix things up as the game was designed for this type of play, take advantage of the variety this game offers.

Sorry, but if you hit 50 in a couple of weeks, you rushed. It may not be your idea of RUSHED, but even a month after release, the vast majority of the player base is not at level cap yet. Its really pretty sad that such a small minority thinks the game is supposed to cater to them.

The problem is that people are leveling way too fast. In FFXI there was literally no endgame either but FFXI was all about the journey to the end. It took you months to get to max if your played a lot.
