New to the Matrix

I'm new to the Matrix, and so far I'm finding it pretty interesting.  I'm also on CoH under my free month.  I was a bit disappointed with MxO at first, mainly because I had been playing CoH for a couple weeks, and thus was used to that, but the more I play MxO, the more I'm liking it. 

I guess my main question here is, which game to stay with.  I get the feeling that most people will say, MxO, chiefly because this is the MxO forum.  But if anyone has any insight on both games, maybe you could help persuade me.  I like the idea of the RP factor in the game, but am a little scared of it.  Also, finding it more difficult to find a group as opposed to CoH, where you just run around and recruit anyone and run off to fight. 

So, any sort of persuasiveness would help.  Maybe I'll post a similar post in the CoH forum. 

I also have a copy of FFXI that's never been played.  I mean, it was a used copy, so that's why I haven't played it yet.  So there.  MxO, CoH, FFXI.  Pros and cons.  Go!

MxO basically requires you to get a clan. Most of your teaming will likely be done with them.

If your a solo gamer, you may not like it after a while. But if you want to find a great group of mates, and dive into the story, the conflict, and missions/etc together, you'll have a lot of fun.

Never played CoH, so I can't advise there, I'm afraid.....but I don't really get into the whole colorful spandex thing, personally

FFXI I've heard a lot of good things about....mainly from people who quit it to play MxO....

I guess it depends on personal preferance.

MxO is CoH with inventory, a story, different setting, and funner more interesting combat system.

if that doesnt sell you, too bad

p.s. it also "trys" to have good pvp. but at least it's in there. (hackers are overpowered. but im crossing my fingers this latest two bajillion hour download patch fix's them. heres hoping)

p.p.s. they patch a lot more than CoH. A LOT more.

Yes, I can see and agree with you that MxO is deeper than CoH.  I suppose CoH's flare will die out, after level 20 or so with it's lack of substance. 

Update: I finally got Eve-Online to work now, and am trying their 14 day trial!  Holy crap, decisions, decisions.  So, now I'm pondering, do I want to do that instead?  The only thing that's somewhat deterring me from MxO is that I get the feeling that it has very limited exploration with the city.  It's essentially 4 zones, with many buroughs.  Unless, I'm vastly mistaken with some sort of inner complexity to the city I'm missing. 

The other thing that's worrying me, is will I be sacrificing RL time to join in on the online events?  "Hold on honey, Morpheus is here and I gotta see what's the scoop!"  Heh, guess that' s just personaly preference.  Something more casual or something uber-intensive. 

Ok, there's some more psychotic rambling for y'all.  Any words of wisdom?  What if I just went back to SWG???  ARGH!!!

Im new in this game too... actually i just download it.. I haven't started yet.. where is the best place where i can start... does it have a quest too..
