Clearing Lich King 10 man hard mode with my small family Guild pre nerf because we all worked at it together, gearing eachother up, training...guild was made up mostly of RL friends, wife, and some close online friends.

That all fell apart after the clear and we tried to grow for 25 mans, which brought some unsavory/toxic elite and impatient players into the mix who destroyed the comradery we had for so long.

nah ... "done best" is quite different from "GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT" in caps.

And "hate playing games"? You mean one who does not think playing game is an "accomplishment" is "hate playing games"? I think you need a lesson in logic.

Case in point, "hating" does not equate "don't feel there is accomplishment". I love watching movie. Do you think i need to feel that sitting through two hours of The Avenger awesomeness is "an accomplishment"?

What's funny about it all is...if their life is so great why are they trolling here ?

Levelling off of just cooking in Asheron's Call.

I kinda enjoyed the process used for crafting in that game since you did a stepwise combination of materials to result in what you wanted. Let you tinker somewhat with what combinations would succeed versus eat your materials and discover how to make things in a free-form manner.

Had to write yer recipes down though. I made myself a nifty little cookbook out of multiple notes. :p

I was visiitor 0001 to the UO Kingdom Reborn teaser website.

( it's a little hard to explain why that's important to me ... it's not so much a "world first" boast as a "I finally made a contribution" sign of relief after months of participating in community brainstorming over a long complex event chain )

There are several I would put in very high standing.

    In no particular order:

    - Making a Jedi in the pre-NGE era of Star Wars Galaxies

    - Getting my Monk epic weapon in EQ1

    - Getting my Bruiser epic in EQ2

    - Making a 19k atk Lann in Vindictus

You do understand that "accomplishment" in this case references things inside a game specifically and not overall in regards to someone's entire, real life accomplishments right? You do understand that there is a distinction there correct? In the immortal words of Inigo Montoya, "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

In WoW, leading 13 successful FTA raids in two weeks.

In GW2, legitimate Kegmaster (I'm one of like five people in and entire player base that enjoyed it enough to play it that much)

In GW2, taking Bay Keep in WvW with ~5 people while there was a full defending presence on the map at the time.

not really an MMO but i was #1 on the diablo 2 HC ladder with my 99 barb when there was less than 10 lvl 99's HC characters total (i had the most xp gained at the time which made me #1).

may he rest in piece :(

i was #1 with my sorc on softcore for a while as well although i don't consider that anywhere near the same accomplishment.

that was the golden age of my online gaming days back when i would bust out 15 hour a day sessions lol

glad i don't game like that anymore honestly.

As funny as it may seem. I felt the most accomplished getting to 40 on WoW. I did not have to run to SM anymore. The good old days

Some dings felt like accomplishments back in Everquest. It was nice to type /who and see the title Reaver in front of my name for example. Oh and when I got my black mount with AA points.

    1) "You obviously interpreted it as if he claimed he was better than you." No he didn't obviously. You're assuming. You appear to do that a lot.

    2) "Quitting MMOs are a big achievement. MMOs can be like abusive relationships; expensive, time-consuming, dramatic BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH to make your own life fun." You spent the next 2 paragraphs talking about shit which literally no-one was talking about. You also couldn't assume it. But you were. Awesome.

    3) "I think you missed my point. Being addicted to alcohol and quitting is a massive achievement to those people. To call them out on it and heckling them is just childish. Same goes for MMOholics." This was your next post, again, no-one in this thread has mentioned mmo addiction. You decided to interpret stuff for yourself. Hence my apprehension about your ability to read english, because you don't appear to be reading what is being said.

4)"But all this has shown is the insecurity of both Dogblaster and Rudedawg." You said this, they didn't show it, you assumed it.

    5) "Dear god, mate. If I couldn't read, wouldn't that reflect on my writing/spelling capabilities?" You take offense at my comment, even though I said I dont mean to patronize. But your not reading what has been said before, just interpreting as you like.

    6) "he is most likely having troubles either leaving an MMO or building a serious relationship (not necessarily intimate) with someone outside the game. It is not healthy to only be friends or date people whom play the same game as he does. It leaves rarely any room to grow as a being." Yes. I'm sure he 'likely' is (sarcasm). You're literally talking shit at this point.

    7) "Rudedawg was showing signs of projection. Rudedawg thought that having accomplishments in MMOs are unfavorable attributes to have, hence he felt the need to note that by commenting as he did. Whether or not he had problems to stop playing MMOs were purely speculations. They are both insecure." No, they aren't necessarily :(

    8) "It does. He clearly felt targeted by it." Wow, I admire your clarity.

9)"If English is your first language you should be ashamed of it. And if it isn't, it is still mediocre at best and filled with grammatical errors as well as spelling errors." It is. Grammatical errors on a forum? Oh no. Spelling errors? Dear lord.

Once again all your points are "You assume". Yes, I do. But I base my assumptions on psychological analytics. And everyone is insecure about something. You're insecure about your grammars and in turn to that you will reply "Nuh uh, you are insecure about yours!". Problem is, I know my lingual abilities are pretty top-notch and I don't make excuses for when they aren't.

If you had any education regarding the psychoanalytic studies at all this could actually have been an intellectual conversation. Although, the irony in this is that we've been arguing about something completely irrelevant to the thread. Something you were complaining about, remember?

Anyhow. I'm done with you. Take your ignorance elsewhere.

    1) "But I base my assumptions on psychological analytics." You made these assumptions based on a couple of paragraphs, IF THAT. Fine scientific rigor.

    2) "You're insecure about your grammars" No I'm not. Not sure why you keep talking about grammar.

    3) "in turn to that you will reply "Nuh uh, you are insecure about yours!"" No I wouldn't. Brilliant crystal ball your using. This entire discussion I have picked apart your weak sauce logic.

    4) "If you had any education regarding the psychoanalytic studies at all" Do I not? Viewers at home will notice extreme levels of elitism.

    5) "the irony in this is that we've been arguing about something completely irrelevant to the thread. Something you were complaining about, remember?" I was complaining about the manner in which rudedawg did so yes. And then you started to talk about his addiction (LOL) and here we are.

    6) "Anyhow. I'm done with you. Take your ignorance elsewhere." MONKEY_CRUSHER 1 - 0 ASSLOHZ. Analyse that.

Ooh hey, condescension contest. Those are always fun.

    What was the thead about?

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

I can't say I ever achieved any "server firsts" or acquired any really rare items.  That's never really been my play style.  I'm the guy who tries to do things in strange, unorthodox  or just silly ways.  I'll be the guy who's running around with a two handed axe and no pants.  Most of the time I fail miserably because what I'm trying to do is just not viable.   I'll frequently try to come up with creative ways to make the so called "gimp" classes work.

“There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody's expense but his own.”

I'll have to go with 2.
    1) Getting to level 20 in EQ. I finally got my last name "Kuhhnyng L'Yngwyst", my half-elf Bard :)

    2) Wizard101 where I reached max level in an MMO for the first time. That was back in 2010 or 2011, if I recall correctly. Ten years of playing MMOs and never hitting max level :)

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

I think the biggest accomplishment in my gaming life would be rank 14 in vanilla wow.
  • RashmeindRashmeind Member Posts: 18

Greatest accomplishment ?  Getting together with mates from Unlimited Gamers [ULTD] in Guildwars 2.  We have since disbanded, but what we had together in terms of raw PvP skill, single minded purpose, solid leadership and a familial bond  heading into GW2; was incredible.  I think we wrote a lot of the game's early textbooks on WvW tactics.  We launched on Henge of Denravi as part of Titan Alliance and dominated the world in WvW.

Individually, that accomplishment would not be anything related to GW2 (b/c ez-mode) it's probably getting 3 pieces of e40 PvP gear in Aion 1.5 along with my the manastones, enchantments, and other gear including my +atk speed GS.  I spent a lot of time in that game perfecting my templar PvP machine.. lotta fun was had back when Aion was still young.

Having good time in EQ. Eventhough i fail a few subjects back in Uni but to me its still worth it. If i could do it again i would still my time on EQ. Now EQN is coming... that old day feeling is flashing back. EQN is my last hope for mmo. I guess im getting old.
