They went around suspending accounts that had a lot of gil. 'A lot' by their standards, I guess. Anyway, do you have a lot of gil (I read somebody say millions of gil counted as 'a lot')? There's a discussion about it on the official forums:

Originally posted by lovebug was in a dungeon group today when game crashes out and now i have been suspended why not known logg into account just says suspended.
Because Square Enix is running an automated ban system script to ban players who make certain market transactions, trades, or have over (X) amount of GIL.
As a result to their behavior I am not renewing my subscription to their game I originally had a collectors edition to the game I tried it was better but after seeing this I am not renew another month.
My advise is that people avoid the new Final Fantasy XIV until they stop their false suspensions on players accounts, and upgrade their site to a more professional site/account management it is a pain to naviage, even that ad that pops up forcing me to sign in and all this can't navigate the site its annoying.

Everyone has an "automated" ban script according to you. Good lord man, I've seen you needlessly trash half a dozen games on this site - most recently AoW where you got utterly owned and shouted out of the community.

Don't you have better things to do?
Obviously he does not. I also doubt he has a subscription or even owns the game.
He is probably one of those MMO nomads that lost his favourite MMO that he hyped and promoted into heaven and then the developers delivered a pile of cow manure which subsequently went F2P or shut down entirely.
Disillusioned and filled with hatred, the MMO nomad can not allow anyone to have fun in any other MMO. It's impossible and can not be allowed.!
So now the MMO nomad wanders around the forums spilling his rhetoric vomit all over any new game that comes out.
I personally think he's a paid image consultant for one of those trashy browser F2P games - Evony perhaps. He says virtually the same thing about every game.
He's got an agenda, and it's certainly not anything to do with honest MMORPG discussion.
