Recently ive found myself only to login to do "x" amount of Castrum Speedruns, to eventually get some DL armor piece. This is starting to get boring.
Ive done AK runs every day at hitted cap every week. Got my +1 relic weap.
Got every crafting profession there is around level 20.
I just cant find something new to do. I hope its because its a new game and all. Eventually new patches will come, and u can use some time on housing, bla bla bla.
Anyone felt the same?

Your not alone, I am already back to WoW....
Played-Everything
Playing-LoL
Gotta say... I smell a bit of poo here. I checked your history and you've never had a good thing to say about this game. Not one positive thing. If you play a game because a friend talks you into in and go in with a negative attitude it will affect the gameplay.
You have done everything there is to do in the game in about three weeks per your post history. So I'm assuming you play a lot. Maybe, 4-6 hours a day? I'm not sure a the pace you play you will find anything to make you happy.
Nice.
I'm not even close to bored, then again i haven't dedicated my life to the game either. Overall i'm finding this the perfect mmo, lots of variety to mix things up, and caters to long sessions and short ones.
there's so much to do that i am so frustrated i have to log off. :]
as a warrior, i have to level up a monk to use its cross class skills.. then i have to lvl up my armorer and blacksmith to make my gears and slot materia.. but to do that i have to gather materials.. To make hq items i have to make sure i have all cross class skills from others crafting class to make it easier..
once that time i have to make sure i am geared enough to do cm.. which is to finish my main story.. then off to raid/ak and others.. but then 2.1 is just around the corner.. i dont even think i can achieve all that..
i am very frustrated that i have to work..
Given that it's my plan to have my DoW play to level cap equipped with only gear (must be HQ) that I made myself, I will be entertained in FFXIV for a few months yet.
I have all the DoH and DoL professions at around L25 now (after a month), so it's reasonable to assume it will take at least another 2 months before my MRD will reach L50. I play every day for as long as I can. I love crafting of course, so the fact that only 10% of my game time goes to combat is not a problem.
Unfortunately I tend to agree with the OP a bit .
The game has great potential if you like levelling up every class and job etc . But the end game right now kinda stinks of time sink item grinder.
There is really only 1 8 man dungeon that you have to run about 50 times to farm stones for armor . You could say there are 2 but lets be honest only 1 is worth doing for speed. I mean seriously how is that fun ? About as fun as watching paint dry.
I'm having more fun just levelling other classes in dungeons for now instead of running the same dungeon 50 times .
The HARD mode primals are quite fun for the first 10 times as well till you realise the fight is exactly the same each time.
Yep dunno what to do now as well , thinking bout GTA5 heard that is good . Then Wild Star . <sigh> yet another MMO of the Month . Least I got to 50 in this game , SWTOR I quit before 50 .
Hopefully Wild Star has it but lets be honest here , it probably won't.
Ladies and gentlemen, MMORPG gamers.
SE could implement TEN dungeons for this step and as the result everyone would flock to one of them because "let's be honest, it's 5% more effective to spam one than do the rest of them." Plus oh my god it's so annoying when people don't know how to run the other nine dungeons wtf SE.
Obviously it'd be SE's fault for "not balancing the dungeons perfectly against each other, so that each of them takes exactly the same amount of time with exactly the same amount of effort for exactly the same amount of reward". Otherwise we have 9 dungeons no one cares about. Even then we'd have the same situation because nobody wants to deal with people who don't know how to run the dungeon, so everyone only runs one that they all know.
Maybe the answer is to have a million tiers and us having to clear each of them separately for a miniscule improvement "needed" to run the next tier? Of course this is all in vain since everything should have been in place since the Alpha testing.
Writing this made my head hurt.
*Facepalm* You do realize this is what MMos are at launch right? Not to much to work towards. You could run coil, thats a goal to run, one that seems to not be so easily breezed through currently.
Not sure why people expect a game fresh and new to be loaded with content to do. People seem to forget that NO GAME has ever launched for tons of content fresh out the box. It just doesn't happen.
Yeah but in RIFT they had 10 dungeons ( which ok were the same 10 dungeons from lvl 1 to 50 but still 10 dungeons only harder)
And guess what they did , they put different loot in those 10 dungeons so you had the choice to obtain loot via seals or from bosses .
But in FF , there is no loot in the 2 8 man dungeons ( which only 1 is really farmed ) but you buy loot from vendor with the farmed seals .
Well maybe they will add more content in future for end game but why wait when you can just buy an entirely new game and get a load of new content .. ie ESO , Arche Age, Wildstar etc etc .
Well that sounds infinitely better then! Running the same dungeons you've run for the last 50 levels. Hopefully they didn't just buff the mob hp and attack values.
So everyone did those 10 dungeons simultaneously, no tiering at all whatsoever ? That better be the case considering you got so much recycled content.
Unfortunately the dungeons were tier T1 and T2 , so it was 5 dungeons I guess .
I wish they considered a similar idea with this game because I really enjoyed running some of the dungeons in FF14 , it would be nice to get a harder mode that had a few extra bosses and harder mechanics .
Did the Devs actually consider that people would get to 50 so fast and become totally bored brain dead of running 1 dungeon 50+ times ?
Did they even want people to sub after the month ? Im assuming almost everyone has lvl 50 by now . I guess the real casual players would be reaching 50 soon too .
what do you do in other mmos you cant do in a realm reborn
only one thing no pvp at the moment
and if you want to compare wow seen someone say they are back to it no poke' battles yet.
im sure its something that will come you know years down the road...
you want a dozen raids/dungeons for what?
do not get me wrong more is good most of the time.
plus you do the same thing you did the raid dungeon before get better gear same thing different game
huh interesting trend
guess it depends what flavor mmo you like doing similar things for the same reasons
there is story/lore
but you know how many people actually read anything anymore
last but not least talk to people/friends
peace
ps
game is pretty good overall
2 hard modes are already coming in 2.1 (along with a new dungeon).
The game has no recycled dungeons but actual unique dungeons. You simply need to pick your poison because I'm sure there was no bitching about recycled dungeons at lvl50 in Rift ever.
We have also hard data showing that only 15% of the playerbase has hit lvl50 since about a week. Most people have reached somewhere around mid 20's to low 30's.
I'm getting the same feeling, though with crafting/harvesting I'm finding a little bit more fun.
I'm probably in burnout mode but just keep going. Wow's what burnt me out I'd say if anything. Find it hard to stay interested in any game for to long. Guess with how different Firefall is from them that keeps me going back to that, would like to play GW2 but haven't found the time yet.
What gets me down anymore is Level based games they just seem to be all the same with their setups (to me anyways). I feel skill gain games and resource/xp gathering to level up what you want keeps me interested in them.
Hate where Social aspects of games have gone. Everquest was the best where you almost had to group to get somewhere, and people would talk while you waited for the next pull or spawn. That's where the fun actually was talking with your fellow group members and not just trudging through a dungeon without a word being said.
Final Fantasy had it good with the crafting/harvesting system need a little more options and work to it, but it's something you could do without touching the other content. Which is a good step to take, still early for the MMO's but they're getting there with making it a viable option.
If only 15-20% of the playerbase has hit L50 so far, then things are not as bad as one would believe if you only ever read these forums.
I'd almost be inclined to mutter about 'the usual suspects', as there always seems to be this crowd who are not here to play the actual MMORPG's, they're just here to 'beat the game' in the shortest possible time after launch, then move on. If that means they can do it in a sub-based game before the sub kicks in, they get bonus points or something...
I see topics like this pop up all the time, I do not agree with their statements mind you, I find these people (OP included) victims of themselves. Why did you rush to the end game? I play 10 hours a day and I have plenty to do and enjoy. I have only recently got my Paladin to level 50.
If you are going to rush the content, then YES of course you are going to be bored, it's moronic to paint a picture that this is a failing or fault with the game. This is a fault with you, and not just you, but all people that share your mentality. Unless you are part of a hardcore guild/company who is looking to treat End Game content as their main focus you are doing yourself a disservice. If you are part of a dedicated raiding guild, you would not be bored. You would be farming and doing those runs and knocking out Bahamuts Coil.
You wouldn't for example buy yourself a single player game and rush to the end of that game would you? Why would you do a disservice like that? Would you play Mass Effect and skip all the dialog and story just because you want to get to the end? No, you would not. So why did you feel the need to get to 50 as quickly as possible? Yes, there are people level 50 in the game, but these are people at a small margin in comparison to the games populace.
Okay let's talk about the things coming out in the game which will give you stuff to do, considering it is rumored that the following will be out before Christmas or shortly following.
1) A new event which will see you fight a new notorious point, receive 2 new minions and deal with some fun encounters. Nothing breaking the bank here, but a bit of fun http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/blog/000495.html
2) Another new event to mark the release of Final Fantasy 13 Lightning Returns which has FATES that give gear (weapon skins and armor skins). Again, nothing breaking the bank here, but fun times to be had. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/blog/000517.html
3) PVP which will have nice battle grounds as well as a balanced set of PVP abilities per class. Which, I love the idea off.
4) Player housing and company housing (these designs on offer look sweet as hell, I want a cactuar lantern!)
5) New tier to Bahamut's Coil (Round 5) to be added
6) New raid Crystal Tower which will utilize 3 groups of 4 or 8 people as you progressively work your way through helping each other out.
7) New Expert modes of the existing primals (Ifrit, Titan and Garuda)
8) New Primal Battle with King Mog
9) New Hard Mode FATES with notorious monsters iconic to Final Fantasy
10) A new Treasure Hunting system that will be put into the game
11) Hardmode versions of the existing dungeons, however they will not be the same. For example Copperbell Mine Hardmode will take the content of that dungeon and add a 'chapter 2' to it. So you will go there but it will look different with new bosses.
12) Extended story
13) More jobs (although confirmed to be a long way off) which has led to the belief from interviews that Rogue and Ninja will be added to the game.
14) Chocobo Breeding
15) Golden Saucer (as if from Final Fantasy 7) with a host of mini games. Will not be released unless 3 games have been made by the dev team. I am personally hoping for Tetra master or something of the likes.
16) I would expect (although not confirmed) there to be Halloween and Christmas based events
17) More quests are going to be added into the game and have their own story lines
18) New unique Dungeons and Raids
19) New Primal Fights, Shiva has been mentioned, but not confirmed.
Now this is the stuff I have written down personally. Everything I have said comes from interviews and videos I have read and watched which covers everything from 2.1 to 2.3 thus far. Some of the stuff I simply can't remember the sources from, mainly from the Japanese interviews and conferences for Square Enix.
So, there is a lot of stuff going on and the above is quite a tall order. A lot of it I have been led to believe from interviews that this is stuff we'll see from now up until the end of the first quarter 2014.
Not a bad haul if you ask me.
What I like most about this is that all this stuff isn't much of the same. Like when I play WoW a content update is a new raid. Which is nice, but I like the fact that Final Fantasy is going down the route of putting lots of different interesting things into play.
if you're referring to CM (which I think you are) I'd say you're wrong. Praetorium is faster with a geared group. You take can 6 DPS and a WAR tank with DPS gear and a single WHM healer and get it done in under 20 minutes if they all have relic +1. CM is only faster if you're undergeared.
Currently playing: Elder Scrolls Online, Elite: Dangerous | Recently played: FFXIV, Rift, LoTRO, Diablo 3, Path of Exile, Guild Wars 2 | Single player RPGs: Dragon Age Inquisition, Skyrim
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
Same. FFXIV has better graphics, music, and maybe crafting, but WoW is better at everything else, and just more fun in general.
This is a 3 year old game.
there are a multitude of things to do ingame. however, if the only thing that appeals to you is endgame raiding then you would be better off finding another game. but make sure to find one that's been established for a number of years or you will blow through that content as well.
no game developer intends for players to do nothing but grind endgame. its why they add fluff, its why they add storyline, its why they add crafting and social outlets. you are bored because you are ignoring 75% of the game. anyone would be bored doing the same in any game.
perhaps mmo's are not for you.
