I see a lot more comments saying they will subscribe than those saying they won't which is odd since the results speak differently. I would have personally expected to see a lot more in favor of subbing since the game has only been out for a short while. Otherwise what would you expect the reactions to be for a poll asking peoples opinions on whether they plan on sticking around? Did you expect every single poster to be in favor? Maybe you meant that we shouldn't comment on a game that we do not like? Either way I find the results kind of interesting for various reasons.
not all of us who voted no posted why.
I know man which was my point. I see a lot more for than against. Not that I couldn't see the obvious.
Just wanted to pop in and say thank you for all the responses. The results so far are pretty interesting! I was prompted to start this by getting the email from Square giving me until the 6th to make my decision.

You really need to think about what you're saying here before typing and posting it. What this amounts to is you looking angry over people not liking what you like. Not liking (for example) end game gear treadmill doesn't mean one hates the MMO genre as a whole, and it would be asinine to assume such a thing.
No, it's just pointing out that an amazing amount of people who hate the game and have no intention of subbing, yet continue to hang around the forum for the sole purpose of bashing the game and hoping it fails. They certainly aren't here trying to support the game with constructive criticism

I'd be interested to see if there is a substantial difference of percentage of people commenting and saying yes or no vs. the votes on the polls. Example:
Comment results: 60% yes vs. 40% no
Poll results: 40% yes vs. 60% no
Thus a 20% difference between those that make comments reflecting their votes and those that only cast votes.

and that's never happened on this forum before? That's what this place is all about, nothing more. Rookies!
Spare me. When even constructive criticism is offered, the OP ends up getting bashed for their preferences, expectations, opinions, and so forth. Thankfully some do stand up in their defense even if they have opposing viewpoints.
As for the thread: I voted "no". Endgame being so bloated with dailies and fates (the later being optimal) I couldn't both enjoy the game and feel like I was going to keep in step with others unless I engaged in fates grinding.
I bought the game thinking it would be fairly grindy and boring. I was right. I made it to level 30 before I realized that I really didn't want to play a lancer, and starting on another class is incredibly slow considering that you cannot do the same quests again.
I'm definitely resubbing! I've had a blast so far and I actually found a great FC from a duty finder group. The community has been a blast, and the gameplay experience has been rather smooth and polished. I'm going to ride this wave for as long as I can.

Except you really really can't just say this kind of thing happens to FFXIV:ARR on these forums.
This. whole. forum. is. like. this.
Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".
Not until Square-Enix improves the over-all game play which is boring and broken by things like.
1.) Boring Tab Targeting, very few skills to use no way to upgrade my skills.
2.) The time it takes when using dungeon finder over 5 minutes.
3.) Lack of Character Customization, no freedom of customization in game.
4.) Lack of Housing Customization.
5.) Have to be (X) Level and do Quests to use auction house.
But most of all, why I didn't pay beyond the 15 or so (Free) Days they gave me for being a previous owner of FInal Fantasy XIV that went down the drain.
1.) They banned a bunch of users saying they were gold sellers using automated scripts, they can't prove that players purchased gold and instead of just banning the spammers and people selling the gold they go after people and cause a massive number of complaints on the internet, Look at the search engine here.
2.) The account Management system on the website needs to be upgraded to be simple to login and navigate it is very unprofessional.
3.) The Main Final Fantasy XIV site with a stupid ELF Lode-Stone advertisement restricts me from even navigating their page without logging in whose idea was this because if I was a new customer just looking at the site and thinking about buying the game.
Over-All, There are too many complaints about Final Fantasy XIV and Square Enix banning accounts, I am sorry but this game in my opinion and eyes is a failure, and I will not waste my money on this game until it is seriously improved, I know for sure that not every player that was banned was a Gold Buyer, and in fact most people who get banned from a game would not even bother to post about it here or on any other site unless they were innocent unless just trolling, although I have seen many MMO Launches and never had I had a banned account except a temporary suspension on my aion account due to a mistaken transaction at one point with a temp ban, and with the launch of TERA, Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2, Dark Fall, SWTOR, I have not seen complaints this early about banned accounts from Real Money Trading and players complaining about doing nothing and the company bans them.
Square Enix has made serious mistakes, and for these mistakes they need to issue public announcement and fix their mistakes before I will be willing to give their game another try I am of course keeping up on all the Final Fantasy XIV forums at the moment to see if any improvements are going to come and keeping eyes out for a new MMO worth playing.

You also have to consider how many people see someone say they don't like a given MMO, and immediately jump to the conclusion "Oh, you must just hate MMOs".
It's as blatant a non-sequitur as you can come up with, yet people argue it as though it were bullet-proof logic. As though there's no other possible reason why someone might not like a particular game.
It's tantamount to, and just as silly as telling someone they must just hate citrus fruit because they don't like lemons.
Having said that, though I was psyched as hell for this game, I won't be re-subbing. Too many of the design choices Yoshi-P made are at odds with what I enjoy in a MMO. Beyond the world and the music and the graphics, it just doesn't have the depth to suck me in.
I have played 300 hours the first 3 weeks, burnt all the content... Love the game so far but they need to tune up some things... like give us a purpose to clear mobs in dungeons. So I'm waiting for 2.1 to drop and pvp and yeah I'll resub.
PS people complaining that there is not enough content are just more of the MMO Hoppers/content locust imo.
currently LNC 26, CNJ 22, 3 Crafts at 30, and 5 at 15,...still not maxed on any class....people need to stop BURNING to end game and bitching about "not enough content" thats THEIR problem, not the rest of the people that enjoy a game....
While I've had some fun with the game and it was released technically sound and well polished, I won't be subbing. I just don't like it enough to pay $15 a month. If there was a reasonable f2p option then I would keep playing and support it with some purchases. I would recommend this game to anyone who was interested as it is fun and I absolutely love the class and job system it has.

If the past has any reflection on the future , this game will go free to play within 6 mths or close down for a re-re-release in 2 years .
I doubt this. When 1.0 came out it was unanimously decried as a steaming pile of manure.
Many people seem to like the game now and it is much better than the original release.

Great game, great community, great fun!
I have subbed. Have a 44 archer / 45 fisher and some other classes... I like the game enough to shell out $13/month.
Besides, what else is there to play?
20 mins waiting as DPS to get group
change to TANK , instant group .
Clearly 2 DPS slots per group isn't enough to speed up the que
whats the point of voting if you did not buy/play the game. Think thats what the OP was going for....thus why a poll like this really does not good
