Cannot resolve hacking without subscription?

MordithMordith Member UncommonPosts: 210
I am in an interesting quandary.  My account was hacked on the last day of the free trial.  I do not want to subscribe unless SE can show me that they will adequately deal with the hacking (return gil etc.).  However, it appears that I cannot get the hacking resolved unless I subscribe.

Their company.  Their choice in how to do business.  Either pay up and see, or find another game.

How so?  Are they saying "You must subscribe before we will do anything", or are you just having problems accessing your account?

In any case, I don't completely trust SE's ability to keep their account servers secure from compromise.  On that same token, you should keep your computer clean and free from malware/viruses, and avoid website that are questionable.

Thus, get a security token.  It saves so much headache.

My post was not really a complaint per se.  It was more of a statement that I will have to decide whether to give SE money without knowing if the issue will be resolved.  Basically, for now, I probably will not subscribe unless I read that SE has effectively been dealing with the hackers and the people hacked.

On the token, I wish I had used that security feature at the beginning.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure....

How much did you lose?  You can probably make it back in quick order.

You should have *NO* concern about account security.  Pick a strong password and use the security token.  SE provides all of the tools to make your account extremely safe.  They can't make you use those tools though....
