Return player. Which server?

Lack of hearthstone is making me itch for world of warcraft lore. Will likely roll this weekend.

i have up to wotlk. I plan to start from level 1. No monk. Would there be any reason to upgrade right away?

 

also in terms of a server. Id prefer a brand spanking new server but i imagine that wont happen. What would be the next best? Perhaps a solid community? I read emerald dream. Is that pretty much a no brainer?

Emerald dream is RP-PVP. If that's the playstyle you like, seems to be a good community. I know now with merged realms things are different.  Sorry, not too much help but welcome back!  I play on Silvermoon where I have been for awhile because some RL had toons there. They stopped playing but I stayed. Seems ok.
