Now that we know that the next Guild Wars 2 event is incoming, it's time to start thinking about what we'd like to see during "Blood and Madness". In our latest GW2 column, we offer up our wish list. See how it compares to yours and then chat it up in the comments.
The ghosts of Ascalon are howling in the wind, and the undead are roaming the earth in search of flesh. Soon the doors to the Mad Realm will begin to appear, bringing tricks and treats to those brave enough to open them. Halloween is by far the greatest holiday, and it's making a return to Guild Wars 2. ArenaNet finally made the announcement for Blood and Madness! Last year's holiday event was a lot of fun. It’s been a whole year since then, and the development team has learned some new things. I’m hoping they will use their new skills to create new content, but of course I’m going to be picky. Here is my Halloween 2013 wishlist.

One of the main problems for me with this game is the complete lack of player customization. The feature you are asking for has been standard fair in MMOs for several year now. Many people with pet classes have also been asking for pet customization. For some reason, they want to keep the game generic in general. It's one of the reasons I got bored and left.
A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.
You need to be able to recognise the other persons character class. So seeing their armour is very important for quick recognition in the middle of a battle. If anyone could wear town clothes in combat it would make that recognition very difficult. For casual players who may not know how to alter their playstyle depending on the players around them etc. it may not matter, but for another segment of the playerbase it would matter a lot. It would also not work at all for PVP play.
Also, there is extremely good player customisation by mixing and matching the different armorsets along with an extreme variety of dye colours. I especially like the Fire style dyes that actually seem to change colour when you apply them. I have seen characters dressed like Hulk, Harlequin, Thor, and several other characters from popular lore. You just need to take the time to research the different looks and styles of armour and use the Transmutation stones to get the looks you want.
