Any recommendations? I prefer not to spend over $150.

What are you looking for?  Do you want wired or wireless?  How much quality do you want?

Your question is so vague that it is hard to suggest a $10 set of cheap headphones or something on the lines of the Logitech G930.

I want the crappiest quality headset I can get for $150... if I'm going to buy a crappy one I may as well spend a lot of money on it, $10 makes me look cheap.

Then you simply need to search Newegg for your price range and the lowest rating item you want.

I have a Turtle Beach set that actually sounds and works quiet well, and I think I paid $60 for it at Best Buy.  I have several expensive sets of headphones without the mic, and I've never felt the Turtle Beach set sounded bad.

A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.

Man I had this issue a little while back and I have to say the answer is Sennheiser! You can certainly find a quality headset in your budget...

The build quality and sound quality is amazing, the mic is spot on!

This doesn't have the cheap plastically feel that most "gmaing" headsets have... they are comfortable and are made with high quality materials.

Here is an amazon search link with several models just as a reference... you can see by the reviews many are rated 4+ stars

    What are your other Hobbies?

Gaming is Dirt Cheap compared to this...

Stay far, far away from Plantronics Gamecom headsets. I've heard a better sound stage out of the speaker (note single speaker) in a 67 Plymouth Valiant.

These pieces of shit can't even do stereo right and they are supposed to simulate 7.1.  All sounds sound like they are coming from above your head. No left, no right, no front, no behind, above. Thin, tinny, weak sound plus you'll faintly hear anything the microphone picks up.

If they cost $150 the OP may very well be interested.

I've got an old pair of iPod earphones I may can be persueded to sell for $150. Guaranteed to tangle the cord up.
