The full loot PVP is one of the best selling points. Generally games that have a full loot system, also make it easy to obtain or craft loot that is lost. Plus, you have save areas and I'm sure a banking system in place as well.
yea not sure if its open world or not but we can only hope that it is, i hadn't heard of the game till this week but applied for alpha and hope to give it a try since im currently still playing UO on classic freeservers but man i've been playing uo since 1997 and there still is no mmorpg to compete with uo on the level of freedom of play.
There are two games that I would like to see remade, Asheron's Call and Ultima Online. Hopefully I receive a alpha/beta invite for this game. The crafting and PVP concepts are very nice.
Originally posted by bibensd ah yea the good ole days, i loved A.C. as well, too bad asherons call 2 was such a flop had high hopes for it at first.
They are actually still working on AC2. No clue if it is going to be something worth playing though.
Yeah people who never played UO seem to always miss one fact about full loot. Nothing is really worth much in those games so full loot isn't the big deal it sounds like. You died in UO and you lost less time than the XP loss from EQ in most cases.

Me too, just remake them, update the UI/graphics and I'd be happy with just what's in the game today. I'm still subscribed to UO after all these years because I love my keep too much to let it go lol.
Reading up on this game, I think I'm starting to like it a lot. Does the game have an open world?
Depends on what you mean open world, it's open that you can walk pretty much anywhere however you have to keep in mind that this game is meant to be run on Tablets as well meaning we can't have these large maps other games have so the world is divided into clusters. for example this is a cluster from a earlier test https://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/1098406_184324585071669_1494893703_n.png each zone that's cut off on the map (most have shields in them) is a capturable territory for your clan.
Since cities are quite close to each other people are protected inside of them so other players can't go in and gank them (unless they allow them to) While we understand that this might break the idea of "completly" open world for some it's meant to hinder people just constantly attacking naked and respawning just a minute away (keep in mind it's a free to play game which allows people to be quite nasty)

No there's no conventional skills and it's very similar to Minecraft in that regard, as long as you got the right materials and the proper tools you can make just about anything in this game.
However the devs are currently experimenting with a achievement board which is sort of a complex quest system which can reward some buffs that could give you a slight advantage over other players . However that's currently in a experimental phase and something that needs a lot of testing

Does that mean the space in between all of the clusters is the "wilderness"? What about the centre? Permanent common city?
"Does that mean the space in between all of the clusters is the "wilderness"? What about the centre? Permanent common city?"
Not sure if I got your question right, so please ask again if my answer is not satisfying. So the area between the territories from empas screenshot is open for everyone and wild area with lots of hotspots like ore mine and stuff like this. Also in this cluster (which the screenshot does not show) there is a small castle in the middle. (FYI: If you conquer this castle you get tax on all silver collected in this area!)
In addition there will be of course different kind of areas/clusters like dungeons or as you mentioned common cities which act as player hubs and have same basic economy buildings, bank, harbours or auction houses.

This is exactly why Albion will be so successful.
Game devs have finally figured out that PvPers is the market to cater too.
The days of PvE themeparks are gone!

heheh
funny
exactly what i was thinking
and now i can remove it from my favorites list here at mmorpg.com
must have been placed there earlier on before much was known - but now that it is clear it is pvp centric...........
And that is exactly why I am putting it on my favorite list Finally some action incomming. Now only if i got into the testing I would be sooo happy )
