If only I would have known how you felt about Hearthstone earlier today when I mentioned this game as a reason to get an Ipad on your Twitter page! Well, I guess you really don't need an IPad! Can I have your beta key then? LOL!

It's okay, it bores me as well. Lack of trading kills it for me.

I honestly think this is "Titian"

On topic. I would like to say that I'm going to play. I like the look and respect the concept, but it's a card game.. I'm the same way with MOBAs. They simply have no appeal what so ever to me. I forced myself to play LoL for a week and a half, hoping it would grow on me. It didn't.

I will probably give this a go on a terribly boring night. Maybe I'll be surprised.

Bill .... You are not alone in all this .. I never liked the card game genre. I never could get into it at all ... the very idea you can "stack the deck" never sat right with me. I have always called trading card games ... weasel gaming. Just my thing.

I know how you feel when you think you should be on board about this and your just not. To me no major loss overall.

why would anyone eat green olives? Black olives man, Kalamata olives if you can. Oh, also, I'll try it, but I'm not going to be very into spending much money on a digital ccg. I don't like the dumbed down version of magic much compared to what it used to be so I don't have high hopes.

Games like this can very much turn into p2w. It's the nature of the beast. That turns a lot of people off. I've been in the beta for a few months and I've pretty much stopped playing after the last wipe. It is fun but there's not much depth to it compared to something like Magic. It also has a few features I don't like such as no card trading, creature heavy decks and your champion playing too large a roll in the outcome. That being said, Blizzard is going to make truck loads of money from Hearthstone.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

Don't force yourself to play it if it doesn't have that spark for you.  You have a great attitude towards it though, very few gamers allow themselves to concede that there are good games that they simply don't like.

Look at all the vitriol targeted at GW2. In the end, it wasn't the game I was looking for, but anyone can see that it is crafted very well.  Likewise for WoW, its not really my cup of tea, but to pretend that it isn't a great game would be only fooling myself, not the millions of players who enjoy it.

This forum would certainly be more civil if people could remain unbiased about titles that don't personally interest them.  As opposed to actually being bad games.

Yeah kind of like what they did with Pet Battles.  Sort of a simplified version of Pokémon, except all the most powerful pets were from the Blizzard Store or from Blizzard IRL events.  Takes the fun out of it.  Hopefully they don't go down that path with Hearthstone.

The thought of playing a CCG at first made me laugh. Definitely saw it as stupid and a waste of time, but I think my first exposure to it helped a great deal - Wizard 101. It was a powdered sugar type of CCG for me which allowed me to take the time necessary to figure out how it all works and what's so cool about it. Having said that, after seeing some videos on this game, it looks like a lot of fun because the deck and character progression is there. Without any sort of progression aspect I could see how it would feel dull, but the more you play and do the better you become due to the options you open up for yourself. I would just like to see characters gain 1 or 2 health per level up and health/card scaling depending on the class you pick. For instance, the Mage having low health but pretty powerful cards, and the Paladin having a ton of health but softer hitting cards (more support-based).

I'm with you, I think once the ipad version comes out I will get more enjoyment out of it.

I loved MtG, and even participated in a sealed deck tournament or two.  But I'm kind of over it, and after running through the beta on Hearthstone, I don't think this is going to be a game for me either.  It's polished and everything, and I can feel myself wanting to buy more cards so I can feel the thrill of getting some rare card, but at the end of the day, what will that get me.

If I get bigger and better cards, I'll just be playing against people with bigger and better cards.  Which is sporting, but the reason I bought so many Magic cards was so that I could steamroll my friends before they got some awesome card and do the same to me.  Where's it all end!  I'll not get sucked into a money-sink like Magic again.  Though the Arena mode in Hearthstone is pretty fun.  And it's not a bad game.  Just not for me anymore.

I'm hearing this more and more from other MMO players I know.

Between CCGs, MOBAs, and the handful of really good indie SP games, I just don't have much interest in MMOs anymore.

Well said.  It's sad but true that a lot of posters on these forums feel that a game is only good if they like it.   Out of all the hate I have seen on these forums, disturbingly few posters will admit that a game is simply not for them and just move on.   It seems like such a simple concept yet it still manages to blow right on by some people.  /shrug

Hearthstone is one of those games that is easy to pick up but difficult to master.  I dont consider myself a master in the least. I have invested very little into the game, but have been able to achieve top 8 in Na tournaments on MLG, and have been an active member in the community. Hearthstone is a great game. It challenges you to think outside the box to achieve a victory. And with arena mode, your having to think outside the box on a constant...

If you dont like card games or you just want some click happy game where where its less about skill and strategy and more about fast clicking then please stick to your moba's as this is not the game for you. If you want to use your mind and have a challenge then Hearthstone is your game.

Got into Hearthstone earlier today! Hurray! I played for 5-hours and realized how addicting it really is! In that time I must of lost over 20 games in a row, one win because someone gave up at the very start.

Very challenging game indeed, I finally managed to win a game or two after my rage quit and calculated and executed cards far better than my foes.

Very addicting game!  I plan to play it again very soon......very soon indeed.

I enjoy this game so much. It is simple and fun and blizzard said that from the beginning. Can't wait for the movie

I am like you Bill. I am not that keen on them even though back in the 90s I had a vampire card game whose name got nerfed. Ahem. Most of my friends were addicted to MTG, but I never got into it. I tried Wizard 101 but I couldn't get into that either. As a result, I will most likely pass Hearthstone up completely even if for a while people think it is the best thing since sliced bread.

There is no shame in not liking what is hot and no explanation needed to be given. To each their own as they say.

I hope you are wrong that this is Titan. I was expecting that to be an MMORPG and not a card trading game. I will be very disappointed if it is. If it is, then I guess it won't conflict with WoW and WoW will have no risk of losing dev time or Blizzard having two MMORPGs compete with each other.

Still it is pretty blech image

It was fun until the last patch.  Now every plays priest, which I hate.  My biggest problem with this game is that Blizzard took a class that everyone beat up on, and turned them into the hands down favorite with a single patch.  They'll never release the numbers on who plays what, and their win-loss records, but I'm sure overwhelmingly people are playing Priest, and those that do, have a better win rate than those that don't lol.

I liked the old patch, things were a lot more balanced, and you had a variety of different classes that people play.  Now it seems every other match is against Priest lol.

This is how I feel about MOBAs.  I see the draw and see why I should like them, but I just can't stand them.  Same with Strategy RPGs, the ones like Final Fantasy Tactics.  I just can't stand that type of game even though I should just from the standpoint of being an FF fanboy and all around gamer.  So, it's the genre.

For me, Hearthstone reminds me of days I was playing Magic the Gathering and YuGiOh on my lunch break with the guys, it's fun, addictive and I just can't stop playing some days.   Add to it the awesome IP of WoW and Blizzard's token polish with sound effects, graphics and music and we have a winner.

Its Beta, they have all the reasons to do what they are doing.

Until its officially released, nerfing and class op should not be a issue. This is the perfect time for them to make tweaks and fixes to every class until they feel its perfect and release the game. Until then, you are a beta tester, test it out, give feed back, and hopefully all those that got in with the beta key, actually help Blizzard with getting the game to the way where it will be awesome.

I am beginning to think that every single beta tester that got in are treating this as the official release.....its sad to think it this way but I think its true.

yes in play mode, Arena Mode is RNG so its balanced.

I have seen someone with all Legendary top decking and got creamed. The guy just got out played even with top decking.

But he probably won 80% and lost 20% so its still worth top decking. So yes in play mode it will most likely be P2W , in Arena Mode not a chance, in practice mode its against AI so not much to say about that.
