certain video games appear to increase right hippocampal volume and overall increased gray matter.

 

study performed at the Max Planck institute published in Molecular Psychiatry , (29 October 2013).

 

since the study used Super Mario Brothers, perhaps this indicates that faster paced, arcade style games are the ones with the benefits?
