LF something to play with my wife

berenimberenim Member UncommonPosts: 162

Hi everyone,

right now I'm looking for a game to play with my wife. What it should be:

Somewhat cute. 2.5D or 3D doesn't matter I guess.

Duoable, so we are not so reliant on others, since she is not so much into grouping.

No need to be online every day. We played a game where we got mounts, weren't online for some days and the horses died due to starvation. That was the moment the game died, too. ;-)

No open world PvP, no action combat (pro tab targeting), no side scrollers.

It also shoul dbe F2P.

So far so good. Hoping for good suggestions.

GW2 except for the mounts part. And it has a hybrid targeting. Its tab targeting but you can damage multiple enemies if you line them up.

It does have an instanced open world pvp, but if you dont want to do it you'll never even run across it in the normal game.

WoW fit the bill too, except for the F2P.

And Im curious, what game killed your horses?

Rift or Lotto. Both are easily duoable. Rift has no real content restrictions as far as I know beyond the expansion souls. Lotto is free to play till 30. Then zone packs must be bought. Either with cash or in-game earnable credits. Mayhap not the best suggestions but its 7 am. Not awake yet. Lol.

I'm not usually one to recommend WoW, but WoW would fit most of those requirements. Pretty much all the quests and stuff are soloable now, and the dungeons that you need a group for are easy to get groups for.  Plus the dungeons are short, so you don't have to be grouped up very long.

    Just found my old mail.

The game we played was Liminary: Rise of the GoonZu.

We got a horse and had to feed it every day. Everything else we like, besides the fact that a patch changed and entered quests, so we had to restart. It was 2D and we had fun.

WoW is P2P and I am strongly opposed to WoW... It drew off half of our org back in Anarchy Online days. ;)

I played Rift back when it was P2P, I think it wont fit the "cute" part.

EQ 2, great mounts, terrific housing, though you may want to purchase end game expansions eventually.

Try Dofus/Wakfu. I don't know a massive amount of it but sounds a lot like what you might be looking for. Check it out.

Imma go with GW2 also. It is a very easy game to play and enjoyable with others. The cute part is eh I guess it just depends on how cute your looking for.

Not that easy. Right now I'm browsing the games list to check this or that.

On the cute department... I guess no need for instant tooth-ache-cuteness, but yet there should be some appeal I guess.

Wakfu/Doofus aren't really F2P as far as I checked threads around here? EQ2 isn't F2P either, or did they change the model? Didn't keep up there.

How about Eden Eternal? It fits all the requirements perfectly and I enjoyed it personally.

Didn't Ragnarok Online go F2P? I think you can get it through Steam now too.  I remember it being an okay game and it definitely had the cute factor. Also, Mabinogi maybe.

And yes, I will agree with the Guild War 2 suggestions, but it isn't F2P it is B2P. Buy the game, then it is free without a monthly charge.

Check out starbound, entering public beta in December. It's buy to play though.

    Wakfu is open pvp btw.

I would recommend SWTOR. I am playing it duo with friend and it is the most fun I had ever in MMOs.

It's also F2P. Some will say that the F2P model is bad, but I think that it would be great for your needs.

    Try it.
