    I can see the argument from both sides. That said, though, I am disappointed and will just have to sit it out and wait til launch to see if it's going to be worth playing. All enthusiasm has just been pretty well shot.

    I bought the Explorer pack because I'm desperate for something new to do. I've spent the past few months revisiting all the old mmorpgs I already got tired of once. I'll let you know in a few months time if I wasted my money..... lol

    I must be blind, where are these "nickel and diming" portions, all i see at that link is the prices for the special editions of the game - much like every other video game ever released.

    It does seem like there are people who still think f2p means the game can't charge for anything and their mommy and daddy should just keep it running.

    What's with the scifi outfit, are we gonna see space stations?
    Talking about games where thousands of players exist simultaneously in a single instance and mechanics related to such games.

    Eh, same as it is for other titles to say F2P but not offer all content for free.  IMO "F2P" does not mean F2P everything and anything, only log in and play the game to a set limit.  For those that don't want to pay, they will be able to play something at some point.

     Only one continent per Landmark server will be limited to a Norrathian style of building.  All other areas are free to build what ever they want, space stations and the like.  The reason for the one policed continent is that when SoE says they are interested in certain structures, builders that would want to see their work in EQN proper would build them there.

    Free to play when it goes Live.  Alpha and Beta is a totally different animal all together.   Usually only very close friends, devs, family, and professional testers are invited to Alpha.

     

    You don't have to pay a dime if you don't want too.  I will have 4 extra Beta codes to give out :)

    I have a feeling that Norrathian style servers will be packed compared to the others.

    I think what honestly has me feeling offended is that this is NOT the EQNEXT Founder's packs. 

     

    There are like Founder's packs for toolset software.

     

    I have zero doubt that they will charge us again for actually Founder's packs to EQNext and more than likely give us nothing for having bought this.

    You must have very specific tastes or not play any games if you've never played a game that offered pre-order bonuses that was any good.

    I have a feeling that Norrathian style servers will be packed compared to the others.

     

    The cool thing is each "server" will have all the different continents from the sounds of it, the difference between Norrath and "other" will be landmasses apart in the same world.  That said they talked about 200+ servers with the same "world" and you can port between them using the spires.  That gives everyone space to build and they will just open another server if space dwindles.

    Desperate bored gamer's ruin the industry for all consumers.I am not pointing you out,i am guilty as charged many times in the past ,it took me a long time to relax and settle down on spending,i no longer toss money freely at game developers,they do not deserve it.Now i treat games like i do anything else in life,i want to test the product and i don't want ANY misleading costs.

    If you are a true blue proponent of paying hidden costs through cash shops,then by all means go for it,but if like me and don't like sneaky business tactics,do not give them a dime,it MIGHT force them to change their ways.

    Desperate, bored gamer crew checking in. I am desperately seeking a MMO to come a long and deliver on the promises and the hype. I will most likely throw $20 at these devs to give this a shot.
