I am an MMO vet, with most time spent on Eve Online, and World of Warcraft. I've tried other MMOs as well, but these are the two MMOs I've dedicated a few years of my life into.
So here is my dilema. I haven't really touched either game for about a year, so I have no clue as to what is the latest state of these two games. Only thing I know is the main reason why I quit them both. Which I will state first, before I announce my dilema.
World of Warcraft: I quit WoW because I think the game went the wrong direction with Cataclysm, and to me Mists of Pandaria was kids content. The game is to me now washed down, and nothing of the core gameplay which I loved, remains.
Eve Online: The game has a very elitist community, with the kings of ships feasting on newcommers, and unlucky souls alike. There is a really huge gap between being in empire, and 0.0, as the community for residing in low sec has pretty much died out. I want to get back in again with my two accounts but don't know where to start. And I also think that game has always lacked in PvE content for stuff to do alone.

So here is my dilema then. The new expansion for World of Warcraft looks, and sounds very promising. The promise of a trip back to the past sounds nice, even though I know in my heart that we aren't getting a reboot here (tbc. vanilla, even WotLK.) But I still want to try it out, so I am considering lvling my Warrior from 85, to 90.
On the other hand, do you recommend Eve: Online?`I mean I have been gone for a year, much has probably changed although from the patch updates through eveonline.com I don't see that much has happened to the game since I've been gone. But hey, maybe I am wrong?
I am really looking forward to Elder Scrolls online, but untill then, what is your advice for me?
Thank you for any help you can give me, and please keep it ontopic, as I am only interested in replies on these two games. (WoW, Eve: Online.)
Thank you, thank you for reading, thank you for your time, have a great day.

They are such very different games. I think it's up to you and what you feel like playing.
I'd probably go with WOW though. But I feel like I've been there done that. Eve Online I tried and I just couldn't get into it. But that's me. I think Star Citizen looks pretty cool. I definitely could get into a space mmo but just not Eve Online.
Love pvp to get the best out of the game .
rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar
Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D
Eve Online has probably changed less than WoW's change with the next expansion. Just a guess, but it's based on conversations with people who both do and do not play the games.
I'd recommend playing Bioshock Infinite, then Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas, and in there somewhere play Contrast once it releases and has a few weeks to iron out any bugs or weirdness.
I would also personally recommend the Alan Wake series of games, but I don't know that my personal preference there is shared to too many people.
You could also play through all of the Silent Hill games. I am finishing Silent Hill 3 to complete the set. This should give you a real appreciation for how luxurious our games are now and after that anything you play will seem pretty nice. :-)
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
You already tried them, something made you say no.
Try something else.
This WoW expansion is supposed to push the game more towards what it was in Vanilla. Dunno if that is actually true though.
A lot of people are unhappy with the latest EVE changes though I don't play it so I can't say if it is well founded or not.
Probably best to just go read their dedicated forums and get an idea for yourself though~.
Play both.
AT THE SAME TIME.
