Best completely non-cash shop mmo

MyThreeCentsMyThreeCents Member Posts: 2

So just looking for suggestions/preferences from you guys on best rpg based mmo game that is only subscription based.

This excludes games with:

Offer houses and stuff by paying lots of money to fund the project

cash shops with anything other than cosmetic items

backpacks and space that add a benefit to game and are not cosmetic.

Also a game with

No bots, No  ability to multibox.

I probably just eliminated 99.89% of all games.

But one can hope.

If you know of something please suggest.  Thanks.

I would look at games that are too old to easily add things to. Things like Asheron's Call, Anarchy Online, DAOC etc. I know DAOC said they wouldn't go FTP because their client is too old to really support it.

Couldn't tell you if any of these fit your bill since I haven't played any of them for like 10+ years now.

Please tell me how I can play this.. Do I have to buy the EQ Titanium.. or is there a way to play P1999 with out purchasing anything? I've never played EQ.. But as most of us can agree, every other MMORPG that's come out recently is garbage.. And EQ seems like the only feasible answer to this. I hear the live game is shit now, therefore I want to play P1999.

    help please?

    World of Warcraft

It has an extremely small cash shop with mounts and cosmetic pets, but there are over 150 such mounts and 300 such pets quite easily obtainable in game.

Yup, WoW is your best option.

Hi , thanks for your replies,  I should have mentioned something fairly new.  Fact is, WOW doesn't really appeal to me.  I wonder if any of you remember a game called meridian 59.   if only they could implement this model into something new, I believe it would be fantastic.   Essentially full loot with very little if any BoA type items.  No character levels.  Although my personal preferences would be.

Full loot open PVP anywhere provided you have joined a guild.  (5 day or something before you can leave a guild)

This gives non pvpers time to build/

No levels but ability to learn anything, but only everything if you maxed intelligence at character creation.  This of course would take away from your creation points.

I would make a great game designer and idea creator, but despite the fact that I work in IT, I could probably only design the database. My OO coding abilities are not the best:D

Honestly, only game you'll find like that which is still sub based is eve online. If thats not your cup of tea then good luck out there because they don't make games like that anymore.  EVE actually has pretty much all the stuff you listed as looking for.

Now if you say you don't like the whole space ship thing and rather play a fantasy themed game, well you're most likely SOL.  full loot pvp is a niche that no AAA developer will take a chance on in this day and age so good luck.

Your "no multibox" requirement pretty much eliminates every game out there.  They all "support" it, in that if you have multiple accounts that are active, you can run multiple copies of the game at once.  In truth, I think I've seen maybe 3 instances of someone multiboxing in the last 10 years of playing MMO's.

    Try Wurm Online .

DAOC is a decent game but I don't think it meets your preferences.  Most players in DAOC multibox and have a bot following them around everywhere.

You should just look into private servers for old school games.  Every game released in the past 5 years is going to have some form of cash shop regardless.  Cash shops are an easy way to make extra money and AAA games are only created to make money.  The industry as a whole is becoming more like cash grab Facebook/Mobile games every year.
