Ok I know that all cool kids hate SWTOR but what's wrong with space combat? It actually looked quite fun and I'll sub and try it out.
I'm with the cool kids on this one.

Everyone i talk to is by default a moron so the only valid opinion is mine.joking
I'm really glad that they released this expansion. I think it looks great. People are just never happy. Well, at least it gives the Xwing vs Tie Fighter crowd something to whine about. It's been a while for them.
Here, I'll start. "Oooooooo, but in XWA I could choose to be a star destroyer if I wanted! Waaah."
Feel free to pile on about how the space combat doesn't meet the same standards of SWG as well.

I am looking forward to it , a lot of customisation is involved with it more than I first thought there would be.

Ah yes they took it from SWG ok thats a good one. Because in all the movies and books around the Star Wars Universe bounties were never ever mentioned right? Man you SWG guys are so much fun to listen too.
And anytime someone makes a negative comment about the game you immediately call them a swg guy. The game sucks. I don't play it because it's not swg I don't play it because well...it sucks.
I think it's one from the 2-3 hours I watched a few weeks back , i know your comment was a little baiting , but thought I would answer. At least they aren't charging for any of it alpha /beta / full release. See I can do that too.
Cheers,

Cannot remember Luke, Han or Leia exploring, actually cannot remember any exploration in Star Wars maybe you're thinking of that other space franchise Star Trek? so Cryptic really should be the ones in the firing line and as a long time Trekkie I'm positive there's more to Star Trek than pew pew. Now Star Wars on the other hand for me is all pew pew so SW:TOR has it bang on with its development path.
So in short...
Star Wars - The eternal conflict of good versus evil, fighting and some galactic politics
Does SW:TOR have all this, yes!
Star Trek - Exploration, diplomacy, discovery, adventure and lots of galactic politics with a bit of fighting.
Does Star Trek Online have any of this, no!
Also the names sort of give it away don't they, Wars versus Trek.

It's a pretty good video. If the actual battleground engagements don't end up being grindingly repetitive, this could actually be quite fun...
But it won't make me subscribe to get "early access". I'll wait until February and try it for free...
But...but SWG was the best game ever! It's shutdown was nothing short of a conspiracy, and I'll never let the truth die! This game should burn in the 9th circle of hell, right next to the people who never pay their library fines! It was THE BEST SANDBOX OF ALL TIME, CUT DOWN IN ITS PRIME [....and maybe trying too hard to chase after that WoW $$$].
(for those who misread: I never played SWG, never cared for it. However, there is an extreme bent around here for SWG, and a definite hatred that SWTOR replaced it. You're welcome to have your game pref, but there comes a point where it just feels bitter and jaded - it is a video game after all).
I've no idea why people are complaining about a new feature coming to SWTOR. This is unique and awesome. I for one am subbing again to test this baby out. Exactly what SWTOR needs to do, PVP in that game is one of its strong suit. So why not focus on its strengths first? I'm all down for this and looking forward to the future of SW: The Old Republic
+1 Nice job !!
If the talent at EA/BioWare was sufficient to make a good space shooter, it'd have been sufficient to make a decent game that people actually want to play.
Ah yes nobody but the Million players that play this want to play this right?
That disclaimer at the end doesn't save your post from sounding just as bitter or jaded as the posts your criticizing, if not more.
on topic: SWG's space exploration was a full fledged game in itself, I knew players back then who didn't even touch the 'real game' on ground.
This is a gimmicky single PvP map for a sunken ship of a game. Not really comparable at all.
Ah yes the sunken ship with over a Million players. How I bet SWG wished they could of had a million players just once in the 8 years. Nope its closed that ship SUNK and sunk hard.
Looks fine for what it is. An extension to the current space combat mini-game currently in game. Personally I was hoping for something more along the lines of Xwing v Tie Fighter (ie a little bit more sim style, a little less arcade), so I'll pass and wait for Star Citizen (Wing Commander was pretty close to Xwing in my heart so I'm sure Chris Roberts will deliver).
