Every MMO has a "window of opportunity" and Archeage has missed it...
"Torquemada... do not implore him for compassion. Torquemada... do not beg him for forgiveness. Torquemada... do not ask him for mercy. Let's face it, you can't Torquemada anything!"
Ok I “schmalculation" Trion will go bankrupt and Archage will never see the light of day under them. I figure that's about as likely as Trions new game "Trove" being a break out hit.
Indeed
When a person or company does nothing but talk about obstacles rather than expressing positive excitement...you should know exactly how well they are going to do on a project.
they should just say they don't want to do it..or ask the Russians to show them how to do it.
There is only a finite amount of time before games like ESO, EQN, Wildstar and Star Citizen all release or have their prospective players engaged in alpha/beta play, leaving ArcheAge alone with so much potential and no one left to care.
I'm in agreement with those that say it doesn't really matter any more. By the time it's released, if it ever is...there will be too many newer, better, less pokeman games out to even bother giving this one a look.

That's a young Ferre, they don't wear any clothes in the game. This is something that will have to be westernized..lol
Not if you're a mature minded adult.
So naked children are only for mature minded adults? Just wow.
Really child porn in game? They allow child porn in US now?
First of all, nudity does not equal porn. Secondly if there is so much nudity in ArcheAge how come this is the only picture shown as an example in any article talking about it?
I do not understand all the secrecy,MANY have been in the foreign Beta and others have seen more than a ton of actual game play,so what is left to hide and why?
As for Trion comparing everything to Rift, that launch was not that great.really more of the same old que ue lack of server space problem.I would be very concerned knowing this game will see the same start or worse.
Also there was a problem with AA "antialiasing" in the graphics section,i think if i remember right they tried to play it down that they never released it yet.No reason to hold back a very simple technical part of a game like that,so i was not buying it.Also Trion did something everyone else has been doing that is not right and i don't agree with it.That is knowing prior, exactly the time schedule for release. That means there is no "real" Beta, the game is going to release no matter what by that certain date.
AA already underwent extensive testing and change in Korea, over here it will not be like that,it will be most likely one month of free game time, then a release, there will be no meaningful feedback or changes happening.
I really fear for AA,it is imo one of the better games of all time but trying to sell in North America is a real tough sell and having a publisher that compete's against your products is another blemish.
Just like FFXIV another large project with a large expenditure,we need AA to b e supported or this genre is going to be nothing but browser/facebook gaming or extremely low budget gaming, none of which looks good to the future.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
You can please some MMO-players all of the time and you can please all MMO-players some of the time but you can't please all MMO-players all of the time.

Because this is a bugged character from early beta (notice the stupid spread arm doll-default stance). The bug would not render any clothing and the character was stuck in this default pose.
It does not exist in game.
Again folks here (due to not actually having hands on experience with the game) take it out of context.
Ill go with this...
However I do find it odd that a bug on this supposedly "clothed character model" still renders areas of the body that requires censorship, unless this is how they look in character creation.

Ah, this mismanagement of a fine piece of MMO property makes me sad (by Koreans and Trion). Koreans should plan for world releases as they make the games. Trion should get a move on and translate the hell outta this. Everyone saying how hard it is to localize...but, some MMOs are made faster from zero than some companies can translate.
Or, I bet, if they released what needs to be translated, fans would do it for free and fast. Run it a few times to see if it works, make a few weeks of closed beta to fix the rest of the big errors and voila, ready to go.
It will come down to how this games' launch fits into the overall release schedule of other major games.
There was a window that ffxiv fell into. The initial rush into that game has subsided, so around now would have been a good time but the western launch appears to be some way off.
So they have missed one possible window, but of course there will be others. It won't be rockwet science to look at the scheduled launches and plan a date that fits into a gap.
I never thought that this would be a mainstream game comparable to EGN, ESO etc, but it does run the risk of being drowned out if they end up with a launch conflicting with one of the other headline releases.
