I was under the impression that it was going to release with the new expansion?

I just don't see this working out well. EQ2 content often requires carefully crafted groups to complete and there are a lot of variables to consider beyond role and gear. Some tank/healer combo's just can't do most of the new content with a single healer. Some zones require strong power regen while others can get by with a lot less. Debuffs, buffs, unique dps abilities all play into group design in ways that most other games I have played don't. Games with dungeon finders tend to take a all tanks, healers and DPS are created equal approach to class balance which isn't the case for EQ2.
I really doubt I will end up using the new system especially for new content.

Group Builder is an Advanced Mode for Dungeon Finder.
Allows group leaders to customize the allowed classes. Can specify only specific tank classes for specific zones, or certain classes for specific zones.
From what I remember of the podcast conversation I think it was supposed to come out with this expansion, but Windstalker explained that they were running into some problems with it during beta so they decided to delay it. She said it when the release it will probably be with a content release.
