On a $300 budget I would go with something like this

Normally $400? At launch, it was, but AMD undercutting its price forced Nvidia to slash prices to compete. So it's "normally" a $400 card only in the sense that the Radeon R9 280X is "normally" a $550 card because that was the launch price of the Radeon HD 7970.
GTX 760 wins over 7950, although not by much, in both price and performance.
Great card for a nice price
Currently if price is ever a factor with GPUs, your best bet is typically AMD. In each performance group AMD typically has the better more efficient performer for less money.
Despite what the posters above have said. The Radeon G9 280X performs faster or as fast as the NVidia 770 and will be just around $300. In most benchmarks the G9 280X performs slightly slower above 100 FPS at 1080p resolutions than a 770. The 280X performs in most benchmarks slightly faster over 1080p resolutions than the 770. This is going to be the same in every price category.
This is the best at $300. Its also on my list. :-)
Thanks for the input looks like i will go ahead and order

Lol I totally agree with this statement , like saying my 486ex which is normally 2200, is now free .
so i havent got anything yet but i was wondering if this is still a good card for the price

im interested in it for the three free games as it includes a couple of titles that i want to get anyway.
It is a good card for the price, and add in 3 free games its even better.
It is a bit slower than the R9 280x tho. You will save some cash and get some free games but will be buying a slower card to sum it up.
