More about the end-game, Less about the journey

RozallaRozalla Member Posts: 51

Hi

Im looking for deep end-game.

I don't care how long it takes to get to there or how good the journey is, I just want deep end-game with lots to do.

I don't want to hit max level and be fully geared  in a couple of weeks.

I want a long slow grind...lol.

It can be either PvE or PvP focused, I don't mind.

I will be playing a healer class.

Please don't include wow or eve.

Have been looking at lotro. Looks a nice game but don't know much about it.

Thanks

I won't play LOTRO again until they update their infrastructure.  It might require re-writing their server code, so I doubt it will happen.  I ran into too many issues related to crossing server "borders" even though the game has been out for years.

If you want a long grind, try Runescape.  It has no classes.  Instead, your gear defines your role in combat.  Healing is less of a focus because grouping is not required for most content.  The vast amount of skills to level in that game provide a lot of content to experience.  The game has been reworked twice now, which proves how dedicated they are to ensuring the longevity of the game.

If Runescape isn't your flavor, and you are dedicated to healing, your options are limited to the traditional "trinity" MMOs.  Have you tried Rift?  Almost every class can spec for healing, tanking, or DPS, but some are better than others in certain situations.  There are very few, if any, viable hybrid specs for end-game content, so I still consider it a "trinity" MMO.  The grind to max level is fairly long, so it might not be what you are looking for.

Without knowing what an involving endgame for you entails, my top recommendation would be Star Trek Online.  While it is light on raid content, there's a significant grind at level cap for both their currency (dilithium) and to unlock reputation items.  You can keep yourself very busy for months trying to earn all the best stuff the game has to offer.

Although you said no to EVE, I'd also give honorable mention to Age of Wushu.  You'd probably be looking at a 2-3 month time investment to get to max level followed by ?? months opening up all the meridians you want (they give you vital stat boosts).  And that's the tip of the iceberg.  There are tons of martial arts sets to acquire, level, and learn how to use plus the search for the perfect gear set that fits the fighter you want to be.  To add to this, Snail continues to add more paths towards improving your hero/villain so by the time you've invested a few months it's likely the upper threshold would be increased even further.
