Im making this topic for anyone who wants to give or get one of the new family/friend test keys!

    Please explain to me what a family/friend test key is?

    you mean use the keys we already have registered so you can try the game? or are the new boxes getting test keys for others.

    The Matrix Online Friends & Family Trial Program

     The Matrix Online Team is pleased to announce the Friends & Family Trial Program that will take place from May 20th-29th, 2005 during the next major live event, "The Hunt for Morpheus." On Thursday, May 12th all current subscribers to The Matrix Online will be e-mailed 3 trial keys and a game client download link. Each of these keys will allow a non-subscriber guest to sign-up and play the game during this live event.

    Morpheus, the once-beloved Zion visionary leader, takes center stage in "The Hunt for Morpheus" event. Continuing to pursue the haunting question "Why won't they give up his remains?" Morpheus resorts to drastic measures to persuade the Machines to return Neo's body to the people of Zion. The fragile truce between the Machines and the people of Zion begins to shred under this added strain, and the Merovingian takes advantage of their distraction, intensifying his efforts to expand the Exiles' power base. Tensions run high on all sides, and Morpheus becomes the focus of the chaos to ensue.

    Friends & Family Trial Program FAQ

    When will the Friends & Family Trial Program take place?
    May 20-29, 2005.

    I am a current subscriber, when will I receive my 3 trial keys?
    May 12th at the e-mail address used when registering for The Matrix Online.

    I was given a Friends & Family Trial Program trial key and want to participate. Where do I register when I get my key?
    After you receive the trial key, you can register at thematrixonline.com/register. More instructions will be sent on May 13th.

    I am going to participate in the Friends & Family Trial Program. How long can I play the game?
    As much as you want to play during trial period from May 20-29, 2005.

    How do I install the game?
    On May 13th a game client download link will be sent out and that can be used to install the game. Trial participants can also install the game using the retail disks purchased by their Friends & Family sponsor.

    Will there be any restrictions on the gameplay experience for Friends & Family Trial Program participants?
    No. All trial participants will have full access to The Matrix Online.

    I participated in the Friends & Family Trial Program and would like to subscribe to the game. How do I activate my account?
    You can convert your trial account into a live game account by purchasing The Matrix Online at your local video game retailer.

    i dont understand how the trial will let new users experience all MxO has too offer...how will a complete newbie within 9 days even get to experience a tiny fragment of the event...i doubt you could be over 20 in 9 days

    If at all possible I would like a key.  I've been debating whether or not to pick up this game since its relase, and a small trial would be a perfect opportunity to view the game play and such. 

    I would appreciate anyone sending me a key, when they come out.

    you obviously dont understand why they are doing this. it's not a free trial where people just try and get the feel for it. its a trial so people can participate in the live event. true, some people will also get the grasp of the game and it will probably bring in a lot of people when they see how involving the story is (or maybe not, invalesco was BS). plus, its a family friend test key, so everyone whose already playing it are supposed to help out their family and friends. i may or may not have some keys left over. just PM me. (first come first serve).

    Buying the game is the only way they will "experience all MxO has to offer". This is a trial....they get to try the game out for a few days and enjoy the event, and some lower level stuff.

    Events are not limited to lvl 50s, or even only 20+.

    well i am under the assumption, like that stated in beta, that only the best players will get a chance to involve themselves into the storyline (this is the number one reason i dont play MxO it sounds far too elitist, as if only the most dedicated hardcore players can experience it, [this is how Walrus explained it on beta forums] and without the storyline and critical missions the game is extremely shallow [never got past lv15 in closed beta due to lack of content]), how can a newbie integrate himself in that short amount of time to actually experiece the event how it should be experienced

    How stupid do you think the dev's are? there gonna make this event VERY newbie friendly, since the whole point of the test keys is for everyone to see what they are doing.

    plus, everyone participates in the storyies, most of the time they tell you when and where the characters will be. (most of the time just in a field next to a HL or something.)

    I almost pre-ordered the game for the special hyerjump ability, but never got round to it due to RL issues.

    I have since heard that the game is having difficulties so i never followed up my interest, but would certainly like to experience this myself if anyone would be so kind to send me a trial key please.

    I'm kind of getting sick of EQ, and I'd like to give MxO a try... I've heard bad things about it, and good things about it; the best way to find out what this game is like is to try it myself.
