You have never played actually swtor or never past lv. 1 anyway ... right?

I have several lv. 55s that I left, along with many CM items that I got from the GTN by farming Makeb. So yes, I have played SWTOR, but I was solely a PvP'er. I actually have PvE'd before and have done a few Ops of both SM, HM and NiM, but after I realized how PvP was so much better, I never looked back and tried to avoid doing PvE whenever I could.

Anyways, I do scour the SWTOR forums at times when I'm super bored, and apparently I'm being accused of being some troll wandering there. Typical apologists. I almost feel sad for all of them. It's sad that the CMs let them off with just warnings at the very most, while pretty much the only critical poster left there is a forum member by the name of TUXs. Critical posters can't really post anything without censoring much of their criticism, and pretty much sugarcoating almost everything they say.

If EAware can't handle the criticism and "whining" of their customers, I'm not even sure why they chose to work in this industry. To be blunt, it's just completely pathetic.

You do know that you need an active sub to post in the SWTOR forums right?

Don't worry, this title well be around for many years to come, so if you enjoy it go play it, looks like you'll have plenty of company and content.

SWTOR will survive but only because it's the only Star Wars MMORPG available. This situation is utter pants, in my opinion.

Keep on thinking what you want, Jurgens.

TORstatus.net will show you how the population has been increasing week after week.

    Meanwhile, EA has said that

"Yes the original expectations obviously were very, very large, and obviously the multiplayer MMO world has - the popularly has come down over time and we tried to restructure the Star Wars business to better match the economics. It's a great business that's very repeatable, we brought the economics in line so it's a profitable business for us."

i.e. they are doing extremely well. Your $15 sub wont be missed, especially since you just renewed with a different account.

I think the SWG crazies over do it with how great the game was. I do understand how incredibly devastated they are that they had this huge sandbox to play in and got swtor , which is sadly very limited in everything.

A Star Wars MMO should NEVER be limiting. I understand their frustration and can sympathize with them, even though I never played SWG. Just from reading posts about the game, it sounds like a great game. I really want to try out the EMU just to get a taste of what I missed out of SWG.

    I am excited.

The ad hominem is strong in this one.

I will now disregard your posts since you're just here to troll. :)

Love how you ignored the part about the game's increasing population (having valid proof unlike you) and EA saying that it's doing great business-wise (again, with proof unlike you).

Since you don't have a reply to that, you label me as a troll.

    Oh Jurgens...

That's what the forums thinks of a guy called TOR-tanic who just created a new account (old account was Jurgens something who was perma-banned from the forums) and spent $15 just to QQ on the forums by necro-ing old bug threads and writing the same bugs/complaints which we had AT LAUNCH as "Criticisms".

Oh he has that. Read above.

Can I please be MacJurgens too?

Apparently everyone with critizism for SWTOR is one and the same person. Perfect strategy to assume there is only one person with gripes about SWTOR.

So, according to your tinfoil hat impersonation theory, only one person unsubbed from SWTOR since launch. Namely the multiple personality guy "MrJurgens" who originally held 1.6 million accounts..

Yeah. Now it all makes sense.

These threads make me laugh. I think we made it to page 2 before the personal attacks started. The topic is silly as well. The game should operate for quite some time. If pwe can keep their garbage games running I don't see how EA would not be able to. The game is obviously profitable.

On a side note I'm starting to think it would be beneficial if mmorpg.com just removed the swtor forum so we could stop seeing the same argument everyday. They all devolve into the same mess.

You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

I just looked through the official forums. Apparently he's not the only one. But you sure did make a hilarious post! Thanks for the laugh. I think you won the internet for today.

Not only are some of these people committing ad hominem attacks, but they're libeling me too.

Even though this got sort of derailed due to the fact that some people want to libel me, most of the statistics I provided are correct. You can even look through the official SWTOR forum's PvP section. The PvP player-base is on a decline due to EAware not being able to retain them for long periods of time. Most of the players that leave just give up after the first or second time due to being engaged only temporarily.

Also, just because there have been articles that are months and months old stating that this has been profitable, yadda yadda, doesn't mean that SWTOR didn't lose over three-fourths of their player-base. They did, and because of declining sub numbers they are now suffering the consequences for their actions. As long as the game keeps focusing on the Cartel Market and not the loyal subscribers and both PvP and PvE, the game won't be able to engage most gamers for long periods of time.

    Definitely agree with this.

I just come here to get some news and it's ridiculous seeing the same arguments bashing the game over and over again from the SWG fans.

Yeah EA got a ten year deal for  Star Wars games with Disney. That does not affect SWTOR at all. It could shut down tomorrow, or in 2021 when their MMO licence runs out.

a million players per month, ha, not on my server

Well of course there aren't a million players on your server. They can't fit all of their players on one server. Duh.

According to Eric Musco, SWToR's community manager, there are something like ten million people occasionally playing, and one million people playing per month. There's no break down on how many are subscribers and how many are F2P.

Eric didn't actually say that. He suggested that 10M have enjoyed the game. Maybe he was talking about people. Not sure.

Say its people though. EA sold 2.4M boxes in the first 6 months after launch then announced 2M new accounts six months after it went f2p. That's 4.4M. Some extra box sales before it went f2p, some new signups post-Makeb but still that's 5M+ "missing" people. So was Eric counting free trial sign-ups (and probably double dipping) or was he talking about something else? Loggings since the game went f2p?

The 1M active somethings I believe - like you - must be people playing per month. 1M would be an average population of 2k per server across 17 servers. 1M per day would fry the servers. But maybe Eric meant something else.

I personally know two guys who grabbed up to five freebie accounts to

    a) grab character names on different servers

    b) try out weird stuff that could get them banned

    c) get a fake sub referral to grab another snailspeed speeder (the one which looks like a starship enterprise baby walker)

I belive the game is growing in player base. Atlest on my server. And i hope gs is gonna bring even more players in. To the ppl saying swtor is only coming out with cartel marked update. Go to the swtor.com forum look at patch notes. You can se the game is realising. Content update every 6-8 weeks. To me the bigest failing point for swtor. Was that they put the game out 1 year to early it lacked to much basic mmo stuff. Even to day there is a few things i wish we had

Subs may not be a good indicator for how much money SWTOR is making, but it sure is hell of a good indicator on how many people think the game is good for the long run. A 75%+ loss in subscribers since launch—that is NOT a good indicator whatsoever. There are many reasons why SWTOR is losing subscribers at the rate it is, which include, but are not limited to: The CT "attacks" critical posters while they "endorse" apologists, making them heavily biased. Well this discussion...again. How original.

Listen, SWTOR will be around as long as BW wants it to be around end of story. They are launching a new pvp in space expansion and I just went back and played another toon to 50 and guess what? The population on my server at least was just fine.

I hate SW:TOR I really do, but my OPINION does not mean jack and shit about sub numbers and profit. The fact of the matter is they are making money off SW:TOR and will most likely continue to do so.

So I know you are butt hurt because they threw you off the official board and it would do your soul good to see the game wither and die in a matter of hours, but that isn't going to happen.

I suggest that you find another game to occupy your time and get over it. Stop posting pointless threads that sound like they were written up by a petulant teenager.

I guess he knows like everyone knows. Two rounds of massive layoffs.

220 servers merged to 17.  F2P in less than a year. Sub drop from 2.3 mill to below 500k.

The entire 9 year history of Star Wars Galaxies looks a lot prettier compared to that massive tanking of SWTOR.

Oh looks like you forgot to mention the CURRENT STATE OF THE GAME!  Give up dude.

1,000,000 players playing every month (Swg could only dreamt of that)

new content every 4-6 weeks (sorry one employee could not do that) (pretty sure nobody is working on Swg)

they are hiring, it's also common for mmos to lay people off after released Swtor was no different.

they are making a profit(again swg closed cause it failed and was not is not making a profit)

yea we all know your routine buddy talk about the past Swtor at launch Swtor had Swtor did, to bad for you the CURRENT SWTOR is doing just fine and your sad desperate crusade won't change that.

Umm... Nope. SWG closed because of licensing conflicts with SW:TOR. I'm not saying it was doing super well or anything, but the FACT of why it HAD to be shut down was directly tied to SW:TOR and licensing.

While I do share your opinion, I have to ask, the two highlighted sentences seem in conflict with each other.

Why would you play another character to 50 if you really hate the game.

I only disliked the end game part of it and only leveled 1 character to 50 then quit for good back at launch.

In fact, I don't play any games that I really dislike (hate's too strong a word) for any length of time, sometimes they don't last more than the 1st day.

Any game I get a character to 50 I can't say I totally disliked, and in most modern titles I enjoy their leveling aspects, just can't deal with their gear grinding end games.

Just got a 2nd level 50 in my DAOC freeshard (probably my 8th or 9th since I first played back in 2002) and I could never have done it if I disliked the game.

Its funny that you say you quit because last I recall you were perma-banned for spreading untruths and creating drama on the website just like you tried to do with your alt account you created yesterday called TOR-tanic. Which by the way I assume was also banned since you are now on this site spreading more untruths and drama and not on SWTOR creating more hate threads. You need to get a life dude for someone who hates the game so much you sure do ride its dick alot!

More ad hominem attacks, also libeling me by trying to insinuate I'm that TOR-tanic guy.

Give up, dude. Only a fraction of you guys think that TOR-tanic is me. How about I say I'm also the 1.6mil+ free players also playing the game, if it makes you apologists feel any better? =)

Like my buddy Kazara stated on another MMO forum: "It seems the Biodrones' defense of the game only extends so far, which is typical for such players," but I will add the fact that I can't believe the apologists have resulted to this.

Dude how about you give up . The game has been out for over two year and will be around for a lot longer.  Do you seriously think it's healthy to spend over two years of your life bashing lying about a video game?  Do you think it's healthy to hate a video game?  I mean the mature healthy adults have moved on to new games we are left with the bitter desperate haters making up crap about a video game.  It's not about defending bioware it's about pointing out what sad pathetic life it must be to spend over two years crying and whining about a VIDEO GAME!

we don't need to defend bioware or Swtor the CURRENT GAME speaks for itself .

over a million player each month

    making a profit

    new content every 4-6 weeks

    etc etc

Clearly, you didn't get the memo.

First of all, I wasn't as critical about the game until time kept passing by, when EAware kept shafting PvP'ers and forum moderation was becoming more biased and unprofessional. Secondly, I was a blind fanboy up until sometime after they delayed Ranked WZs and the engine started acting a lot like **** around 1.4.

Thirdly, and most importantly, the subtle libel just shows how ridiculous and desperate the defenders will go to protect this game from anyone who dares question or criticize a decision or change with the game, or the game itself. Also, if you guys don't need to defend EAware or SWTOR, then why do you guys spend hours every day trolling the forums attacking critical posters who only wish to save the game from doom that's certain to happen in the future?

I have every right to make my criticisms and will praise EAware/SWTOR when I see when it's due. What the real problem is is that you defenders need some self-control, and if you don't like what the "Negative Nancys" have to say, stop trying to attack us, flame-bait us and derail our discussions just because we don't think SWTOR is the best thing since sliced bread. You aren't forced to read what we have to say. You just choose to, and you guys are at fault for putting yourselves through all the trouble at attempting to point out our "logical fallacies".

I was very happy to reveal to you all how EAware's CT is heavily biased toward the apologists, and pretty much swiftly deals with anyone who criticizes a change or decision made to the game, or the game itself.

Now I'm wondering whether SWTOR can actually sustain itself for another year or two? I say this because subs have been dwindling heavily since release. As you all know, EAware was forced to go F2P, and did so in November of 2012. It's been a year now since F2P was implemented, but subscribers keep on falling. Sure, they'll spike up a bit near and during the release of an upcoming expac, only for them to plummet right after. It's very common for MMOs to lose many subscribers after a major expac.

SWTOR started out with around 1.7mil subscribers, and our last report of current subs was right after the release of Rise of the Coin Cartel, which put SWTOR at just under 500k subs, thus making it the 3rd most subscribed MMO in the western market. Subs may not be a good indicator for how much money SWTOR is making, but it sure is hell of a good indicator on how many people think the game is good for the long run. A 75%+ loss in subscribers since launch—that is NOT a good indicator whatsoever.

There are many reasons why SWTOR is losing subscribers at the rate it is, which include, but are not limited to:

    • The CT "attacks" critical posters while they "endorse" apologists, making them heavily biased.
    • Using a pre-alpha engine to develop the game.
    • Heavy focus on the CM for a quick buck.
    • Lack of endgame content (more PvP systems have been removed and some Operations weren't scaled).

There could be A LOT MORE I could add to that list, but I will not. When I was playing, my server was Prophecy of the Five. Before I quit, I noticed PvP pretty much died on there... on one of the biggest servers on SWTOR. It's pretty sad that EAware is killing off what's left of the dying player-base. SWTOR could have been a huge e-sports game, but alas, EAware uses their "metrics" instead of interacting with their forum community, when the latter knows what's best for the direction of PvP at this point in time, while the former does more harm to the game than it does good.

So do you think SWTOR will be able to be maintained for another year or two and then shutdown, or will it continue to live on and prosper and expand, improve and innovate?

I look forward to a mature discussion.

Like my buddy Kazara stated on another MMO forum: "It seems the Biodrones' defense of the game only extends so far, which is typical for such players," but I will add the fact that I can't believe the apologists have resulted to this.

yeah the amount of personal attacks and insinuations around here is mind boggling.

Say one critical word about the game, and they jump out at you and attack you on a personal level. Terrible that people can't just discuss the situation instead of attacking a poster. Sad. And that tells a lot about the remaining SWTOR community.

First most games crack down on trolling on their forums this is why most games do not allow F2pers to post on forums. As it's been pointed out you were banned from Swtor forums for trolling now you are here to do the same thing cause this site is a safe haven for Swtor haters.

Second haters don't focus on the current game, the millions of player, the new content every 4-6 weeks, the fact the game is making a profit.  Haters like you are stuck in the past it's always at launch, Swtor had , Swtor did at patch 1.4 etc etc.  you don't went the game to be better who you kidding .

If haters don't want to be called out then stop making ignorant post stop crying and whining about a video game you don't play.  Criticism is perfectly fine the game is not perfect not close but the sad desperate attempts made by the likes of you will continue to be called out .  Your covers like you being banned from swtor will continue to be blow .  And wishing and hoping any video game fails will continue to be sad and desperate .

And it's not worth subscribing for right now, even with the pvp space battles I'm still unsure if it's worth it for many people who were subscribers. The only reason I play is to go through the my characters story, I'll stick with the SWGEMU http://www.swgemu.com/forums/index.php if this game shuts down and I won't miss SWTOR that much anyways.

To me this was 100% pointless rant and brought no facts to the table .  Just another swg vet promoting his emu because nobody is playing that crap.  Well have fun with that.

I'm not a SWG vet, I never played SWG during its supposed glorious days (pre-cu) or even after that. And plenty of people are playing the Emulator. Your probably saying this cuz your either a SWTOR fan boy, or you probably tried out the Emulator and went on the Nova Test Server where there is barely anyone and gave up without trying to go on the Basilisk server that has nearly 2,000 people or a bit less on everyday.

When compared to the million logging onto SWTOR every month, 2000 is indeed "nobody is playing".  Now, that's fine if you want to debate that "million a month" number, but at this very moment there are 3 heavy and 5 medium NA servers. A quick spot check on one of the medium pop servers (potf) shows roughly 1200 players on the fleet alone (empire+republic, its about 600 each). That's one zone on one medium SWTOR server having 1200 concurrent players on it at this very moment. Ill leave it at that...

PS..i can provide screenshots if necessary, I downloaded the client just to check that ;)

I'm not comparing the population and I know that SWTOR has such a bigger population and just because the population of SWGEMU isn't even close the population of SWTOR doesn't make the SWGEMU population unimportant or "nobody". 2,000 people are simply 2,000 players. I wasn't comparing it earlier I was saying that people do actually play it and the population will most likely keep growing as the SWGEMU gets to where the final pre-cu version was, which isn't too far from now.

    @kicksave321

just wondering, is there anything you would criticize about SWTOR or is it in your opinion "10/10 perfect game"
