Hail to one and all,
Players leaving the group without the common decency to say goodbye. Players asking what quest you are doing only to leave you eating dust if it doesn't line up with there own. Players leaving you stranded in dangerous places. Players passing by without any hint of helping as you die at the hands of a critter well below ther own level. Little if any sharing amongst players though a bee line if you decide to share your own stuff. What is it that seems to attract sush merciless, cut-throat and selfish players to WOW. I cant believe that they are all under the age of 12 but then ..............

Well your first gripe sounds rather unreasonable.
Ive left without saying goodbye before simply because i was in a hurry.
You cant label the community because of some one who said never goodbye to you.
Well if some one is busy questing (unless they are you friend) then you cant expect them to go out of their way for a total stranger.
If you do a quest that you and the other perosn have in common then you can usually build up enough of a relationship to get them to do another quest with you.
You cant expect everyone to love you and go out of their way all the time.
Though some will do it.

the official forums are full of similar >discussions<.
Don't expect much role-play (except on designated servers of course), do expect banal chat. Personally I turn off general chat channel, that cuts out 90% of the garbage. World of Warcraft is a successful game, but do future designers turn to it and model their games on it without having any structure for community events. Yes there is children's week at the moment, but there is almost no community because it is so solo-friendly.
