Xbox One day one sales

Kicksave321Kicksave321 Member CommonPosts: 262

Well looks like the doom and gloom ps4 boys were way off with their Xbox One predictions.  Over one million units sold in the first 24 hrs.  I got mine and it we'll worth it.

Now I have no issue with ps4 and would never cheer and hope it fails.  I don't understand those that do this to video games what's the point to hope something fails?  And when they are proven wrong they go into hiding.

Well congrats to both  sony and Microsoft on good starts.

Oh I'm sure we'll see a few " those numbers are made up " posts. Haters don't give up that easy.

Hey Kicksave321, congratz on your new system I envy you.

I always have been a Playstation fan since the first one was released back in 1996. I never had anything against Xbox other than Microsoft being in control of it and I had issues with the controller layout. Other than that the better rpg's were always on Xbox 360 which I could never get on PS3. One of my biggest gripes with PS3.

Now with the release of these two systems Xbox One appeals to me more than the PS4 even though 2 out of the 8 core processors are dedicated to the Kinect with the Xbox One vs the more horsepower the PS4 has with all 8 cores dedicated for gaming and a better gpu. I don't think this is what is going to matter down the road.

The Xbox One does more stuff that I think is cool where the PS4 does not. It will all boil down to games in my opinion. I believe the Xbox One is going to have alot more games and awesome ones for it than the PS4 will.

Again this is just my opinion and I hope you don't have the disc drive grinding error with your new Xbox One that would suck.

Xbox One releases in 13 countries = 1 million in 24 hours

    PS4 releases in 2 countries = 1 million in 24 hours.

That's going to be the ammo for the haters.

Xbox One sells 1 million in a day launching in over 11 countries

PS4 sells 1 million in a day launching in just 2 countries.

Yea you guys definitely won this one (sarcasm)

Wonder how many of those million eat your discs lol

P.S. Congrats on your system. Glad you're enjoying it

disclaimer:  i think both systems are good - neither is fail

regarding #s - hard to compare for 2 reasons

    1.  PS4 only released 1 million initially in 2 regions,  USA and Canada

    2.  XBOX1 released globally into 12+ regions

And that is all they will have. Xbox is still sold out everywhere my brothers are being told they have to wait until closer to Christmas (oops can I say that word here) because of the high demand .  Oh I'm sure they will bring up the small disc drive issue but then deny the blue line of death on the Ps4.

Like I said congrats to both companies and the doom and gloom launch for the Xbox one clearly did not materialize like some sadly hoped for .

Personally I think you guys who jumped at the Xbox are taking a big chance and here is why

    1. There have been several news stories about Microsoft selling off the entertainment division so your new Xbox might be under new management in less than a year and who knows where the new IP holders will do.

    2. The initial DRM was ungodly terrible.  Did MS change and open it up, yes.  Could MS start locking it down later and blame it on game developers/publishers, YES

    3. RROD.  There have been many stories about how MS had to rush to get the Xbox to market in time for Christmas.  That scares me.  It was the same excuse they had for the 360 issues and blamed them on some thrid party assembler.

I would like to get one but I am waiting until spring/summer when I have time to really use it.

    1) new guy who said he would consider selling the xbox division is not the lead or 2nd the guy from Ford is.

    2) there is nothing from stopping sony from doing the same thing.

    3) there are stories with sony doing the same thing.  It bound they will both have issues and they both do already.  I had the 1st xbox 360 Microsoft did an awesome job handling the red ring of death.  Turn around the two times I sent it in was a week.  The last time was 5 years ago the thing is still kicking .

Regardless of the number of units shipped, the good news is that it's close. It's no where near the 5:1 or 10:1 stats that were being thrown around when the whole "Which will you buy" debate was raging.

Both have also had Day 1 issues, which isn't unusual. I went with PS4 myself, but I'm glad to see healthy competition. It's a good driver for future innovation and pushing for good 1st party titles.

Here in France, there are dozens of units left in each store.

I'm glad they are all sold out in the U.S.A. . I'll be worried if MS didn't succeed enough to put some concurrence in front of Sony. Because this is how we have good things.

We are big gamers here in France. But it seems we haven't been convinced by Microsoft on this generation. Too much bad decisions from this company. And the fact it is more expansive than the PS4 is important here. 100€ (more or less $130) more expansive.

Pretty much any system can sell out on launch day. The hardcore fans will eagerly buy anything they put out.

Thats the way it has always been and thats the way it will always be.

But, what happens when all the hardcore fans already have theirs? You have to rely on the general populace for sales.

And that is where the "doom and gloom" predictions for Xbox One are originating.

So, for both new systems selling a million in their first day really means nothing. What they are selling 3 months from now and 3 years from now is whats actually important.

But, hey, congratulations on the system and the "screw you, haters" topic.

Great launch for both systems. Looking forward to seeing the real games now. Titanfall in March for Xbox One and Infamous Second Son also in March for PS4.

It's pretty simple, really:  there aren't enough new generation consoles in existence to meet demand, so they both sell out immediately.  If there were 20 million of each available on launch day, sales numbers would be a lot more meaningful.

The reason I hope that PS4 wins early on (i.e., until prices change considerably) is that if Xbox One is able to be competitive on sales by charging $100 extra for inferior hardware, companies will learn the wrong lessons.  I want companies to think that they have to compete on price and performance to succeed.
