So thats it. I think A-Net are at right track. And the game is coming into its own.

    Its great again :)

Good to hear. I do not wish ill for GW2, only good. I am too old and too slow to play this game well, but I do wish it and the Player community of GW2 well.

This would surely be awesome and make the game rock.

First and biggest disapointement for me was that they removed "skills hunt" as it was in GW1. That was single best part of the game for me.

This weapon hunt could be good way for them to bring it back without sacrificing the precious "balance"

well thats one of the reasons i still play it ...

also its casual style is hot for me, cause in my 30's i dont have much time to spend on game

other reasons are its aesthetics, its community, its gameplay, its lore, etc ... :p

I think GW2 issue for me it's that the game is not built to be played in groups or as a mmorpg, it never had that feeling and the no roles is main factor for not needing a party(all classes can heal themselves).

Likes: The world and cities, underwater world, movement and combat.

Disslikes: Quest system or hearts as some call them, the forced sync in each area is idiotic how can I a level 40 warrior drop in levels cause I entered an area where mobs are not 40!!!!, way too many type of currencies, I didn't hit endgame but heard that there isn't any endgame, no roles, buy to play but you have to buy more bags slots or it's not playable so the buy to play is a lie you end up paying more then subscription with the little things here and there that are needed not just for fun.

edit: I payed about $120 with the game purchase and the iventory and other needed things and haven't played the game more then 3 weeks in total so this game costs way more then a subscription game by the way.

You can either salvage or Gold > Gem > Slots.

I bought the standard edition 59.99U$.

Got all my bag slots, including bank slots with ingame gold and 20slot bags with fractals tokens, PLUS they even game a 20bag slot on kraken invasion and 15 slots on wintersday(Past).

I did bought extra itens with money (Name change, kasmeer staff) but because I DO want to support Anet and their amazing game.

NOTHING IS NEEDED BEYOND STANDARD GAME. stop spreading lies.

    now: GW2 (11 80s).
    Dark Souls 2.
    future: Mount&Blade 2 BannerLord.
    "Bro, do your even fractal?"
Recommends: Guild Wars 2, Dark Souls, Mount&Blade: Warband, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

That's so not true, I have  about 6 extra bank slots and a dozen or so extra character slots. I bought them all with in game gold. I didn't buy a single extra bag slot. Just put larger bags in the slots and you're good to go. If you spent $120 on the game with some really poor judgement calls, then that's your decision. It's not in the least "needed" in order to have fun in the game.

I recently went back to GW2 after I stopped playing few weeks after launch and I am having a total blast.  For some reason GW2 feels so much better the second time around.

I log In weekly, and every time I do, I can t get past that it s still one of the most repetitive, boring, even no sub it s a waste of my time. Yet I log into FFXI, still, and love it to death. WoW, EQ2, DAOC, they all have something that draws me to log back in , GW2 nothing at all. Too bad, I wanted to like it, and I will try, but it actually gets worse every time I try.

to each their own, how you feel about GW2 is how I feel about those games you listed (at least for WoW and EQ2, they bore me to tears, haven't played DAOC or FFXI).

  • I just wanted to give props on the post title lol I freaking LOVE that movie

Bingo, we re all different. I m just saying GW2 was, and is the worst MMO I ve played in years, bar none. Note, I didn t say made, I ve played.

Check out this article posted by Arena Net a while back:

    https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/looking-ahead-guild-wars-2-in-2013/

The mention of more Skills and traits may not be exactly what you are looking for, but great none the less.

Take a break and enjoy other video games just wait it out you'll return.

What I learned about myself from GW2:

    I like progression.

If the game has no progression, then fun gameplay can be a viable substitute.

If both of the above are lacking, there is nothing that can save the game for me.

Nice post, I appreciate when people take the time to write how they got to their conclusions. I've gone through the same process of 'learning what I really want from an MMO', but eventually came to the opposite conclusion. Progression is great for single player RPGs, and that's the place where I enjoy it. It makes much less sense in an MMO. An inevitably finite motivation mechanic is at odds with a potentially infinite game, especially when that progression governs the ability of players to play together,

Looking back at 15 odd years of playing progression-based MMOs which all depended on instilling the feeling that whatever I did to progress was meaningful, I can see how it worked by creating short term appeal. But after leveling a few dozen characters and seeing how it ultimately means nothing at all, the illusion stopped working. The really sad thing is how few developers even try to come up with something better, and fewer still succeeding.

I guess I'm just lucky that I actually find that minute-to-minute gameplay of GW2 enjoyable.
