The board of directors of Firefall developer Red 5 Studios has voted to remove co-founder Mark Kern from his role as chief executive officer, according to an email sent to Red 5 employees and obtained by Game Front.
According to the email sent by Vice President of Development James Macauley, the board voted to remove Kern as CEO “effectively immediately,” as well as from his position on the board. Kern will “no longer have any authority to act for or on behalf of Red 5 Studios.”
In the email, Macauley assures employees that he and other management staff at the company “will continue to be here to serve and support each of you,” but also acknowledges that “this is a major change for our company,” without going into further detail about what might change at the studio.
Red 5 has not officially announced Kern’s removal from the positions.

Well thats the theory. In practice, look at the Too Big to Fail banks that almost destroyed the worlds economy... Nothing happened to their leaders... ^^
I can't say that I'm surprised at this. It follows a typical pattern, that I've seen way too many times before. Mark Kerns would hardly be the first (nor last) founder of a company to be back stabbed by their own board. What ever comes next, I wish Mark and Red5 all the best of luck.
That's a government thing. The banks and the governments are inseparable and indistinguishable at this point in history. And a government will ALWAYS attempt to maintain the status quo no matter what and no matter what political party gets into power (even if they ran on 'change'). The current government's can all print money into infinity, that will have eventual consequences, but if it works in the short 9/10 governments will do it. Sadly and happily we will all start to see the consequences of this in roughly 1.5 years. That status quo was and is unsaveable. But its a lie that it was the 'world economy' that would fail it was just the way the money cartel preferred to run things that is once again picking up speed toward failing. Maybe they can inject one more round of monetary heroin/cocaine, I doubt it.
There is no sugar daddy for a game studio besides venture capital and the venture capital guys expect returns. They can't print money so they have hard limits. What you see in these studio that run into trouble its going to start to look real familiar. Be careful to whom you are a creditor. Most people don't even know that a bank deposit makes you a creditor and no longer an owner. That is settled law for over a hundred years.
When the knives come out the creditors make sure everyone but them loses. Except in the case of government bonds, you are a fool if you think can make them pay you what you thought had. Risk free return, hah! Yeah and perpetual motion machines are real.
