Spent quite a good amount of time and effort to make that post on the previous page, just wanted to make sure you read it. Have fun with the game!
I did Bruthor, and I appreciate it. You made some very valid points, and it seemed Darkfall had the biggest impact on you. Or rather the company did. Since I already play the DayZ mod I figured I should give one of the other two a shot. Since almost everyone compares Nether to DayZ. It was an easy choice since I will wait for the bugs to be worked out of the standalone to purchase that (invisible zombies walking through floors is craziness lol).
I hear what the masses are saying about the company behind DF, and its fine. For me 15$ for a 30day experiment is fine. Thanks all for the input.
if your into apocalyptic environment with zombies involve.. try to buy 7 days to die and play multiplayer with other players.... im sure you will enjoy with and will spend more hours playing it.
Nether is more of my playstyle and easier to get lost in. UW is far not worth the monthly sub IMO. I bought it the second day it was out and found myself uninstalling it before too long. But dont listen to all of us, look up some gameplay vids and see which would suit you best.
Wondering which to pick up for over the holidays. I had wondered about picking up the DayZ stand alone but I hear its worse at the moment then the mod (zombie bugs) so I'll stick to the mod for the time being. So basically I have 15$ to blow and was thinking about picking up one of these titles. Any help on making my decision?
Thanks
If you can only afford one; don't buy either.
“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”
I wouldn't recommend darkfall. With the monthly sub it's just not worth it. The game is very slow to update, and the player base is tiny. My suggestion for longevity would be to pick 7 days to die or rust. They should have long lives but are both still in early stages being updated constantly. Plus the ability for people to make custom servers will be great. Steer from av, they are a shady company with false promises. With the downhill trend of their game I don't see them having the money to finish the game.
I currently am play Darkfall UH and with the recent patches the game is coming along great. There really isnt any bugs in the game. Its deffinitly worth the $13.66 to play for a awhile. Find a good clan and have them help you out a bit.

I just played for a few hours today. I have spent maybe 8hrs this weekend playing DFUW. I really am not sure why people have a beef with this game. I mean once you get the hang of the UI its a pretty good game. Graphics aren't that bad. No bad bugs. There seems to be a lot of people playing it. Crafting is interesting and probably the best part so far for me. But on the other hand I do not feel excited to play this game at all. I definitely don't see myself playing it long term. Maybe thats partly it? Anyway, I am downloading DayZ right now haha. I figure with both in the tank I'll be good to go until April!
