So they brought over some awesome goodies(candy) like 20 minutes ago and i feel kind of bad i didnt get them anything. Should I give them something or just bring back the plate they brought and say thank you (and make sure they know i really liked it)?

    I am sure they don't expect reciprocation for their generosity :) I would just keep it in mind and do something nice for them in the near future so it's a pleasant surprise.

    Some traditions say it's rude to return empty containers/plates so you can include chocolates, something homemade (cookies/pasta/bbq), or wine.

    I would give them their plate back, and hold off for a few weeks before giving them something.

    It would seem like you feel guilty rather than a gift if its too soon !
