over 20 years of mmorpg's and counting...
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
The problem with this industry is it has become more about advertising/marketing and your name, example Blizzard could put out any pile of junk and get a following to it.VERY little mention of this game, even here at MMORPG and you know why? They were not spamming money at MMORPG to get the advertising, the way a few other devs are.
I have no doubt what so ever, that if Amalur was labelled as a Blizzard title and spammed on all the major RPG sites,it would have been a major hit.
The other problem is the ONLY reason to group has been to conquer dungeons, that means 90% of a game is solo minded, single player gaming.Every developer is missing the point of MMO and is showing me they have little ability to create a good solid MMORPG that brings players together rather than "flag" for pvp.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
This clone deserved to get a chance to flop like the rest. I've never heard this Curt Schilling quote, surprisingly it has me hoping for Curt to get involved in the industry somewhere else. Here's why, Curt knew the game was a clone, and it was boring. That's pretty darn ballsy statement coming from the head man, and he was correct.
Elune be praised
If you didn't tell us this was Copernicus I would have thought it was WoW.
Pretty eerie how similar it looks.
