Bought Guild Wars, having trouble with my video card...

Soonerfan101Soonerfan101 Member Posts: 13

Im able to play for about 20 minutes and then my computer restarts on me... i sent an error report and the problem was "intel graphics driver" and something to do with the resolution.  Another thing i have noticed is that if i try to create a level 20 character, whenever i use the scroll bar to pick my skills, the same thing happens.  I have updated my driver and tryed changing the resolution from true color to high color with no effect.  Anyone with any ideas would be appreciated, the graphics card i have in my computer is just what came with it, an Intel 82845G Graphics Controller, I really dont want to buy another graphics card if it can be helped!  Thanks for the help guys, as always :)

yo, man, i know how u fell

rule of thumb, intel grapic cant support GW (i have it too, it pissed me off so much)

two opnions: -1. update with driver---> it wil work, usually, but veryyyyy laggy

-2, but a ati or geforce, but NOT a radoen

    ---------------------------------------------

    Why not a radoen?

Anyway best thing to do is either buy a better video card or also try playing it on the lowest settings in the options area when you first goto log in.

Hehe ,buy a geforce but not nvidiaimage

Ok not gonna make more fun of that as someone already did it.

Well here is the stuff the intergrated graphics aka intel controller is a utter cheap option by many greedy companies to bring in buyers despite the fact they could add a bottom of the line graphics card like the mx440 for under $40(even less for them since they buy in bulks).

Fact remains its written on the box -min requirements is mx series.

I strongly suggest if you are a gamer to get at the very least a bottom line g card like the x300

yes, Radeon is ATI, but ATI does make other cards.........

I don't worry because I only use Nvidia chipsets, mostly from EVGA, so, I DO use a geforce that's not nvidia (technically speaking)..... until something comes along thats got more bang for the buck. My TI4200 with 128k does just fine on GW at best quality for everything. GW is probably about the limit of what the card can do, but I won't have to think about changing unless I get some new hi falutin bleeding edge FPS game, which...... I won't.......
