This has been bothering me for quite sometime, but I've never actually taken the time to sit down and write about it. I have been an avid visitor of MMORPGcom for several years now. This site got me on my way to my first MMO anarchy online many years back and has always had a lot of fun articles to read. My biggest gripe about this site now more then ever however is the game list. MMO Hut is filled with several great game list features, reviews, screen shots, videos and comment. Not only are their categories clearly defined with pictures, text, and snap shot run downs but they do an altogether better job at representing the games.
It already takes me hours to search out new MMOS or browser games, but on MMORPGcom it is nigh impossible. I would have to dedicate far to much time to learn about a game only using your site. MMO Huts game list supplies you with an up to date picture, far more info next to the page, an official review filled with features (comment page, reviews, game new, first impression/community video, far more screen shot), and makes it far easier to locate the official site. In fact almost every game I have clicked on there has a fully detailed first impressions/revist video not just a trailer. I find the info far more current and informative. I don't have to waste my time clicking on faceless text and shallow or non-existent reviews. Everything on MMO Hut really seems to pop with feeling over crowded, while MMOrpgcom feels like just a blog/forum site. If this site didn't have personalities like Bill Murphy, Grack, Garret and others I wouldn't be looking to this place at all and that upsets me a bit to admit it.
In short the game list feels really hollow and condensed which leads to a lot of time wasting. Other MM sites make it much easier to size up what your getting into and than expand their features if you choose to follow up on the game.

Forum wise this site has been better then it's ever been.
In the past mods would ban every negative post on their favorite games only. Was the worst during GW2 launch, the forums painted a hugely unrealisticly positive review on the game because all negativity was deleted. This caused a bunch of people to buy the game that could not have possibly enjoyed it, which is the opposite of what mmorpg wants be about.
I do agree it's fairly hard to find useful information on a game from the above tabs. MMORPG.com could use an overhall in functionality.
maybe it's because of all the games that have launched since anarchy online came out, but now I can't even stand to try and sift through this sites game list. I go on MMO hut and I get a great snap shot of what I want to try and then when i click on the full page I get even more info. I've found out about a bunch of game sI wouldn't have even tried or even heard of just because they display things so well over there.
Here its like "Chronicles of xandrixa"(made up MMo name I hope) or w/e and I have no idea what the games about nor will it regularly by covered when i click on it. When I got to MMO hut you could have the same game and before even clicking on it they give you a decent picture of game play, snapshot review, player population estimate, graphic estimate, pros and cons, and a feature rundown. then if you click on it there's reviews, game news from the official site, a first impressions and comments under. I may even have sub forums like here I usually have enough info though so I've never really tried to go on their forums. MMORPGcom is just severely outclasses in this respect, and as i said it's been bothering me for quite some time now.
This was the site that actually got me committed to MMOS. I had moved on from beta testing browser games as a child (Helped with batleons very first adventure quest alpha / beta now known as AQ worlds) and other small games. I used to think this site was better than sliced bread, but after some looking around I only use this place for a forum chuckle or to see what the writers are up to.

Got to say I have to disagree about the website. Once you actually click the game off the games list it organized fairly well.
Edit * Ate my examples.
So if you click say for example Features tab under the game itself it then further breaks it down to - Recent / Previews / Interviews / General Articles and so on.
Same with the Links tab, it has the official website and any fan sites.
Screenshot tab shows MMORPG exclusives and any fan submitted ones.
For me, Ive been coming here everyday for the more or less since I joined up (heck even before that). And to me its one of the easier websites to navigate.

While the tabs are all fine and good honestly I dislike the format. It feels very close together and a lot of things can be missed. The games themselves don't really seem to have any grabber. What MMORPGcom does with its game break down in a series of tabs MMO Hut does in basically 2 pages(the game list breakdown itself and than the actual detailed page). I always feel like I'm jumping into a game with my eyes closed when I try to use this site where on MMOhut I feel like I know what I'm getting into ahead of time.
There's just so much out there that it's a lot harder for me to give a game a shot if I don't have some way to quickly screen it first. Heck even after that I always find it good practice to sift through several pages of official site forums and now with youtube etc game play footage before I chance a download. I guess I'll leave it at that for now. I'm going to go try find something to play but i thought I'd share my opinion on this site that I've been tied to for so long. it would be interesting to see more input on what other people think. I may lurk later.

And I am sure I will hate it! I hate all redesigns. Try to fix one little problem, and generally end up breaking ten others. A lot of people like familiarity. I certainly hope the changes are subtle and not a complete overhaul of the site. Sadly I feel it will be the latter.
Anyways Kudo's to the OP for finding something to complain about other than the sorry state of MMO's in general. I salute you!
FFA Nonconsentual Full Loot PvP ...You know you want it!!
This site is decent for having a variety of forums and it has a lot of users to help you out with looking for a game.
Its big issue:
Its content is *heavily* based off its advertising. Things like the 'MMOs to Try Now" or whatever its called...Rift is always up there because Trion advertises heavily, but you'll almost never see a game like EQ2 up there. Its kind of disingenuous. Youll also see a ton of articles based off its advertisers (why has Trove had several articles about it already yet other games in similar stages of development get no mention?)
I know this is awhile from when i posted but I want to say I really appreciate that you stopped by. Hopefully the changes ar well received and the site is better for it

It's past time to be honest. I look forward to seeing what you have in store.

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.
