That's what we are all looking for, right? Something different!
While not defined as an MMORPG, the game below could very well end up providing part of the feeling found in MMORPGs. The developers are currently raising funds for the launch of the game on Kickstarter and they have just announced some new stretch goals that might make an MMORPG gamer drool.
Anyway, would you feel excited about a game where you run an empire in a persistent universe with thousands of other players and where you try to survive by using diplomacy, intrigue, trade and war? Let me say right away that I'm not speaking about EVE online, but the MMO RTS Novus AEterno. Just the story behind this game is awesome.. It all started with this guy who wanted a game that didn't exist and who went out and gathered people who shared his passion. Together they build that game and just to add to the awesomeness, they got a former top guy from the US military as an advisor on the project.
The developers just announced new strech goals. At 370k they will add naval officers on board your space ships that will gain experience and level up. They will add more playable races and they will add a 3D ship bridge for your mothership at 500k, where you can stand very Darth Vader like and control your growing space empire.
I'm not affiliated with the developers of this game, but I am a backer and I would very much like to see it become as big a success as possible.
