Dude. He specifically said they haven't worked out the deets yet and they are having a meeting about it tomorrow. He jumped on reddit to try to quell the raging inferno of outrage they started.
I have to READ?!?!?!? I cry foul! Thanks for the clarification, though
Sorry for the first post. Feeling rather foolish now...

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. - FARGIN_WAR
I hate their EU partnership. I want to deal with SOE directly and be fully integrated into their system. If i have to deal with ProSieben or something i won't play EQNL or EQN just as i don't play their games now.

Well if its going to work the way it has been than getting a 12 Month sub should be $9.99/month even I would consider that
I really hope this gets other companies to wake up to the prices they charge. SoE has always been the trend setter and I hope this value creeps into other MMOs payment models.
So they are lowering the price of All access pass by $5.
Why not change the news to "SoE to lower prices of All Access Pass from 19.99 to 14.99"
This lengthy writeup is unnecessary - that says it all.
Agreed.
And while we're at it, can we try to avoid phrases like "General: Smedley"? That's likely to filter its way up the corporate ladder, and we all know how fragile punctuation is.
I disagree... the market is flooded with 15 bucks a month for 1 game and often thats all you get for your money. SWToR has followed SoE in giving credits too use in the cash shop. So thats nice over the norm. SoE is saying here... we have 10 titles you can play all for one price. Thats 100% unique and you get coins for their cash shop. Tell me other companies are not looking at this and saying... oh darn. IMO this may force some companies too rethink their payment model. If you get to buy 12 months of all access for 119,88 (9.99 a month) with EQN and EQL this could be a game changer.

I don't see how other MMO titles can do anything to make their model more appealing, short of wasting money lowering the sub below $15 or throwing in more artificial perks.
SOE took an approach where no others can compete in the AAA MMO arena. If you want more game time out of your $15/month then you will consinder SOE's offer. It could work really well for those that are game hoppers too as long as they play the SOE games.

Ways it could change how subs work with other companies... to start offer coins with their sub too use in their cash shops. See more and more MMOs add them but only a cash option. Like WoW for one =-) Sub cost lowered would be nice. FF14 has an option of 12.99 a month for just one char, full access too the game as well with that. Now with this move by SoE, lower price options would be nice. Family sub rates as well. 14.99 a month for one account, 2 accounts on the same monthly bill could be 13.99, for 3 or more 12.99. Its time game companies stopped going, going rate 15 bucks done. I would keep my sub too SWToR going if it was 9.99 a month.
EQN:L and EQN are outside of this though. EQN is said to be all MTX/FTP without a sub option. Similar to Dragons Prophet. For me, I will def be subbing back to SOE with All-Access at the new low price, however, once EQN launches I will probably stop playing 1 and 2 for a while, which will cause me to end my subscription unless they change their minds and have "gold" status stuff in EQN.
If I want a world in which people can purchase success and power with cash, I'll play Real Life. Keep Virtual Worlds Virtual!

I am curious how the 'one price for all titles' decision impacts their desire to innovate through new big products like EQN.
Feels like the October Revolution all over again... but with Software this time!
Regardless, I am a SOE monthly subscriber (for EQ1) and wish them great success with this accounting experiment.

I havent seen any info about the possibility of subs yet - you have any sources?

SOE has so lost my trust in them as well as many of friends... and 180 a year is stupid for a single game/ or multiple...
"Free to Play Your Way" is a joke.
Nothing free about their games in any way except the hook. Even if you are Gold. I honestly feel bad for the devs who create their stuff.
I'll stick w/ my $50 gifted investment and keep playing the awesome game of GW2. Now at 1.3 years... saved so much money!
Just saying its better built, more fun, and they don't shove SC buys down your throat CONSTANTLY.
See you in BG ;-) Hollow
Well of course they don't shove SC down your throat. They shove gems down your throat.
