Title says it all. If you want a console, which one do you want, and when are you interested in getting it?

I'm not very likely to purchase either console unless my disposable income suddenly starts to grow. If I did have the money though, I'd buy the PS4. Even if I had the money, I'd probably still wait awhile, just to make sure there weren't any major bugs.

Indeed; I chose muffins because as I have a gaming PC I can actually see the point of having muffins.
Full immersion VR pod.
There's nothing in the pipeline for consoles that would make me consider drop money on, for the forseeable future. Plus with the modding scene being more mature today, I would very much lean towards a PC version hands down.
PS4 but waiting.
Meanwhile... muffins!
This is the first time that I'll be skipping a generation of game consoles. I'm going 100% PC games for the foreseeable future.
There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody's expense but his own.

I had not really thought about it before, but we've had a Nintendo console in the house almost as long as we've had children. The purchase of the Wii was really for my wife, but the WiiU is the first time Nintendo has released a console that we haven't purchased in over ten years. I don't think we're going to purchase the WiiU unless they come out with some really decent Mario World/Galaxy/Universe game. Even then it would be a stretch.
Of course, Nintendo is not in the poll, since they seem to be the least likely purchased item out of the available options.

Well, it's not really a console, not yet. For now it's just going to be a Windows machine with a Steam interface. Or even just a Windows machine that adheres to Valve's specifications.
Also, it would be covered in the "Muffins" option. :-)

Are you refering to ...the "big screen" option in steam ?
I was talking about the console comming out this year..The Steambox..with Steam OS..Many has already tested this Product,,
It's as real as both PS4 and XBOX1

The "Steam Machine" initiative is just a hardware specification. There's no requirement to have SteamOS installed. There can't be because the Steam Machine spec is out now, and it'll be months before SteamOS is ready. They also have to get their streaming tech going too.
Besides, there's a teeny, tiny number of games that will currently run under Linux. Releasing Steam Machines that only run SteamOS and telling people that the vast majority of games that they could buy or have already purchased won't run isn't going to earn them any kudos from players. The Steam Machines that release now will most likely have Windows installed, with Steam pre installed, and possibly in Big Picture mode. Big Picture mode is pretty cool btw. I haven't tried replacing my LXDE interface on my laptop with it, but when I've used it, it's worked well.

Exactly - with SteamOS - not a single steam game in my library is supported - so ita 100% useless to me.

Huh. So I am wrong about SteamOS coming installed on Steam Machines.
I still feel justified in including them under "Muffins" though, since the goal doesn't seem to be selling very many Steam Machines at this time. If their time frame for this is in decades though, then selling very few of these right now and not having too many titles available right now doesn't seem to be that big a deal.

You only mentioned 2 consoles... I'm not even gonna vote on this thing.
So of the plethora of consoles that are available in the coming year, which one would you actually purchase?

There may not be many consoles or the others that are worth listing may not be anywhere near release. 8 possible answers with only 2 consoles is not a legit poll. You could have even added an "I will not be buying any consoles, Im sticking to PC" option. It seems biased. Ouya, snakebite viper, steam console, previous consoles from 2013 that someone may not have purchased yet because they are waiting and maybe even handhelds. Handhelds are being upgraded to the point where they are basically capable of what consoles are just on a smaller scale.
Also saying muffins can include any answer not listed is a stretch.

Muffins can include any answer. Muffins are awesome enough to do that.
You don't seem to have an actual answer to the question offered. If that's the case, it doesn't matter what options are provided in the poll. You wouldn't have an answer for it anyway.
