So I am in my mid forties and my mom is in her mid sixties, and about five years ago she approached me and asked about computer games. I have always played some kind of game, and she has noticed that my brother and I are very close, and talk daily because of some game or another.
So she had read somewhere that it could help her hand eye coordination and such, and wanted to play an MMO:) Her other excuse was she is getting older and wanted to spend more time with us, and between work and living in a different city, that a virtual world would be a great way to do it.
If you haven't shown someone how to play an online game, let alone your mother, it takes a great deal of patients. The first time she ran up ingame as a Bloodelf, and said hey look at my outfit its so cute! And working the mouse and movement ingame took her a few days LOL I can't tell you how many times she would get stuck on a tree or she would be starring at her feet while running or at the sky:)
So five years later I have stopped playing WoW, after Cata came out I hated it, and she still plays and has many maxed char's. But I did try GW2 and made her check it out, and she has been playing for the last eight months. I lasted about a month on GW2 and just play single games or co-op on steam with mums or brother.
So long story short, she said she went back to wow after the eight months on GW2 and said she had forgotten how fun wow was and even though she loved the look of GW2 it was so easy and she didn't even need to look at the screen while playing.
I didn't write this to bash GW2 I just found it such a funny statement coming from someone that used to get stuck on trees in wow:) I am not really sure why I wrote this post other then I have no mmo I care to play at the moment and am bored:)
