Elder Scrolls Online- Vampires and Werewolves

Can you become a vampire or werewolf in game? Also I head that there was a vampire perk tree for elder scrolls online any more information on this would be great.

I want an mmorpg where there are people roleplaying in game. An mmo with a good community and as always awesome gameplay.

I'd like to know this, too.  I wasn't much for playing as a werewolf in Skyrim, but I really enjoyed being a blood-sucker.

A great list of free games (mostly MMORPGs): http://www.mytop10games.com/

Yes and yes although both are higher level achievements.

I really hope they limit it in some way. Or so many people are going to play one that it will ruin the game for me. TES is not a vamp/warewolf game. Even if you became one, you were still rare in the population of the game. If tones of people take this path it will end up feeling like some Twilight knock off. Towns fokke should not do business with you but some back door shady types. Some guilds should want nothing too do with you, like the fighters and mage guild.

There is pro's and con's to both. I would imagine Vampire skill line will also have penalties in daytime... some food for thought.

Great Ideas, and I am sure zenimax has it thought through.

Thats my hope. Some type of thing that makes you go... do I really want to do this, Even if they made a pool of high end unlockable skills you had too pick from and once you do it locks the others out. Here is 10 skill lines but you can only have one. Or like you said, become a vamp but in daylight hours you take 5% more damage and your dps is dropped by 5%.

There's nothing new about this issue in MMO's.  It's just an extension of the classic "how can everyone be the hero?" problem.

The best they can probably do is make these "curses" actually feel like curses, so that it's not just another box to check off on character progression.

    You make me like charity

I had always figured Twilight wouldn't infect the people outside it's fan-base very much, but it seems nowadays you can not mention the two fantastical creatures without the series coming up at least once. I highly doubt those that want to play a Vampire or Werewolf in ESO want to do it for paranormal romance RP.

That would also be a solution IMO. When you go dark side in SWToR you can pick to look on red eye and sickly or look like the good looking avatar you started with. Most dont like to show the ugly side. If it becomes just something you get and does not change how you look in any way other then using the skills, that could keep the world looking as it should.

I wonder how powerful the skill lines will be compared to other skill lines. If they are OP that could be a problem as well. Forcing people to be a Warewolf or a Vampire. I hope thats not the case as well. I really cant wait for more info =-)

I highly doubt it is anything much more than flavor text for your character. They are just skill lines to pull from and even if locked into the form it won't be much different than building your second skill line by weapon swap. If that is the case then not many will take one (I assume you can only take one out of logic atm) if it doesn't suit their character concept and severely limits custom skill sets.

I had thought in previous games that you had to change form so that alone sounds like restrictions apply. If just sniping powers from the skill line and the form has no limitations other than looking fugly then every damn person will take one.

I haven't found an external site showing those skill lines yet (been using http://eldersouls.com/elder-scrolls-online/skills so far. No idea if that site is considered NDA breaking or anything). Vampirism sounds like it may have powers that suit my nightshade drain mage concept but if ultimately too restrictive in combining different skills then it may not be worth it.

Yah that is what we need Twilight Guilds in game .

So who thinks the first werewolf guild or Vampire Guild will have a Twilight theme to it?

    Sparkling Knights come to mind.

Nearly none. Vampires in ESO are dark and very very evil. The form in previous games was too ugly for any Twilight fan to ever consider for even a moment.

You could say the same thing about World of Darkness if that ever came out and the fans of the IP would likely track you down and evict you from the planet Earth for being so naive. ESO fans likely share the same feeling.

    Yes, apparently.

I just hope they won't be lacklustre options like in vanilla Skyrim.

Rare?  Werewolves were fairly prominent in Skyrim, and once Dawnguard is installed, there are vampires all over the place, and NPCs constantly mentioning vampires.  Daggerfall had a bunch of vampire clans.

One outbreak in a series of games a Warewolf and Vampire game not make. Sure they are part of but not the potential if a vast majority of players became one or the other and looked like a Vamp or Warewolf. I too would like to come to a town where there is a Warewolf outbreak and you need to put an end too it. Or depending on who you are, go get bit lol. Im interested in how they will control things from becoming all about that one subject matter.

Ya, that would be cool. Add the skill line Undaunted as well. That could be a balance factor. A 3rd option =-)

You do know that most of the players of this game want a PVE world with PVP when they choose right?  Forcing these subclasses to be open world PVP flagged all the time would be a bad idea.  People like to rosy glasses pre Star Wars NGE but there is a reason the developers thought they had to revamp the entire game and it wasn't because they where dicks.

Unless you got bonuses for killing Vamps and Warewolves in the AvA map if you played as an Undaunted and Vamps and Warewolves got a bonus on all players in the day cycle only. Ooooooooo!

Necromancy is considered a major evil in ESO lore. Likely not something players will tap into as a primary skill line.

More skill lines will be added but most likely in line with the lore with restrictions as required. As it stands though anyone walking into most town and cities in Tamriel as a necromancer would likely be killed on sight.

The fighters guild will have skills dedicated to killing undead for PvP. You can see one in the PvP video. It is the skill with the crossbow that looks like it turns a player to dust.

I know I don't: I really have no love for Twilight.  Give me Lost Boys, give me 'Salem's Lot, just no Twilight and glittery vampires.
