1-there is NO indication of the process to unsubscribe MxO anywhere in your personnal account stuff
2-when you ask MxO Staff how to do, you are answered to Phone Call in a Foreign Country or to send them your Login, Adress, 5 last Credit Card digit numbers and a few other things but with NO indication of Where to send that Info
3-You must then choose to pay a lot for a very long Phone Call with big waiting times, or do a reply asking where to send the requested Info

Oh noes! we have to call them to cancel our account!??!!
we know already, and its not a big deal.
Actually thats interesting since I am STILL trying to get off their mass mailing list. I have done the click link to unsubscribe here deal. I have read their privacy policy and followed the steps on it to get myself removed. I have since gotten more of their dam emailings about the game because I was in the beta and I have yet to get any response in over 2 weeks in regards to them removing me.
I have very low tolerance for companies that can't control their spam lists, WB would never get me as a customer after going through this.
As for having to call them to get it turned off, not a hugely big deal. However I don't feel thats good business to make the customer call to do it, there should be something setup online. They can take the time to spam me, they can take the time to make a billing interface on their site.

When I called to cancel this crap game it was worse then trying to cancel a credit card. Their subscription numbers are WAY DOWN. I forsee MxO lasting maybe a year. I have heard rumors of server merging already.
must be one of the few mmorpgs that require you to phone to cancel.
everyother ive played they dont need it.
ill proberbly be giving them a call soon, the game has rapidly become stale
Lotar:
odd. game's still nice and crowded. I think your rumors are just that....rumors.
I canceled my 2 accounts and it wasnt to bad. I do not like the fact you have to call in to cancel. I have never played a game that made you do that.
This game will still be around as it has enough fans, but I think accounts will start dropping. At least ot me this game is very empty and needs alot more content to keep me interested. With that said it does mimic the movies..

ACCOUNT DELETION EPISODE II
A week ago i received an email telling i could enter my text between two lines, what i did and resent the mail, as i am in France, i m not gonna phone anywhere to a paying number out of my country with lots of waiting ( you know, when there s a little music and a girl saying stay there someone s gonna take care of you as soon as possible -music again- ) and one week has now passed and i received no confirmation yet from the MxO services that my request of account deletion was registered....
This game is a PAIN IN THE BUTT to quit !!!
ADVICE: IF YOU WANT TO PLAY MXO JUST FOR A TRY, FIND A FRIEND WHO HAS IT AND WHO CAN LET YOU PLAY ALL ALONE FOR 72 HOURS, QUITE ENUF TIME TO MAKE YOUR OWN OPINION !!!

I am curious reading this thread, why on earth do you need 2 accounts? If you mean to say your wife and husband had two open accounts then fine say that but not YOUR 2 accounts. Or did you need 2 accounts because your a scripter who 2bots? The game is brand new, its not like you need 2 accounts to hold a house ala, Ultima Online.
I made the mistake of buying Matrix Online, that first night playing was simply wow factor very cool, I did not last two weeks, I was more annoyed by the amount of double clicking I had to do in game and for me I felt lonely on the shards I played for an online game, Maybe I didn't learn the game well enough but it was just stand there and fight not enough run and gun, I found there to be no skill in the actual fighting. I was very intrigued by the ongoing storyline, but then after 2 weeks I saw no affect of it so I made the decision that it was not something that would really impact me.
The difficulty of choosing you rmission difficulty well, there was skill involved either your character could complete a hard mission or it could not, there was no skill that you could do to make a hard mission doable.
I see this all the time. New players cant do hard missions because its "too hard". Well heres a helpfull tip to any of you who feel like your not good enough to do them.
join a high leveled faction. Why? they will give you REALLY good clothes. Get all your skills leveled up as soon as possible. And then theres some other tricks like actually waiting for the two mobs to split up. You do know that mobs move around the mission area right? so if they are bunched up watch them for two minutes and one will walk through the door and then you can fight him mano a mano.
Hard missions ARE doable. I never had a problem with them. (then again i was in closed beta)
You just have to know how to play the game to its max.
gaah that suck's man.. they should make it so that you could unsubscribe from their site. I hate when you need to call em, Thogh Blizzard for an example got free service when you call you pay nothing and also tey are really nice talking to, kind people ya know, I think mono should have the same and that way people would respect their service's. This will only make people hate it even more but again not much we can do really.

I'll admit as well that I hold more resentment over Final Fantasy Online, and their cancelling procedures compared to Matrix Online. Final Fantasy is the only online game that I've ever had my characters actually deleted from the memory when I can cancel and if I choose to come back maybe six ish months later on have to start from scratch, add the fact that they charge a restarting fee on top of the monthly fee charge, then you say WOW you suck Final Fantasy!
Jackman, so basicaly your saying get in a way powerlevlled by some high levels so you can do the hard missions in game, by having them give you uber clothes, thats a way to do it yes, but its simply not a way that I would feel like I accomplished anything with regards to game play is all.
I hate to say it but, I would have to agree that the rumors ARE TRUE. This game is neat looking graphically but, kinda totally weak. The fighting system is pretty lame, I wanted to like it!!! But, it's absolutely skill-less and maybe that's the way it's supposed to be, not much skill but, interesting storyline and good graphics. I hope that the subscription process isn't as bad as you guys say, because I definately do not wanna be billed for another month of this game.
One this I did like was the animations. That coupled with some nice graphics but, it's a little laggy and requires quite a machine to run it. There is no way that my AMD 3200+ 64bit processor, Nvidia geforce 6600gt, 1gb pc3200 RAM, SB Audigy sound, Cable modem hooked into a gigabit switch should be lagging any at all... It's not on my end.. it's the game..
About a month ago (before I cancelled--which wasn't all that difficult), I did an informal sampling on Linenoise. I estimated about 1000 logins on a Sunday mid-to-late afternoon. Based on this, I estimated in the vicinity of 9-10k total logins, and from that, I'd wager about 50k accounts.
If this were like Eve, where the publisher is the developer (CCP), this would be enough to keep the game going, probably indefinitely. But with big names like WB, I'd say they need 100-200k to keep to expectations. Earth and Beyond died with 40-50k in about two years.
Of course, my numbers may mean nothing, but I'll note that MMOGCHART.com has not yet gotten any reliable numbers, which includes WB not putting out any PRs since the game has gone live in March. So I'd say it's pretty certain they haven't sold even 100k boxes, not to mention 100k subs.
well, on a related note, I had no problems cancelling MY account. The chick I talked to on the phone was actually a gamer....actually played the game, and others as well. We ended up having a long conversation about what was good about teh game, and what needed to be addressed to make it better, and then she gave me a code that I can enter in a web site to get a special jacket of some kind.
I was only on hold for seriously 3 seconds or so. Very painless.
Have played: CoH, DDO EQ2, FFXI, L2, HZ, SoR, and WW2 online
be very wary, I cancelled my account last month which was set up for $14.99 monthly, called and cancelled then on my last cc bill they billed me for $41.99 still sorting this out.
SOE's done that to me a couple of times too. They refunded me of course.
I cancelled today and it was VERY easy to do. Select the right # on the menu and I talked to a guy who was really cool.
the call isn;t a big deal if you live in North America - elsewhere there are few smooth cancellations.
I just unsubbed today for the 2nd time and it prob took all of 5 mins - the first time took 8, I timed it.
Just because it took you 8 and 5 mins doesn't mean there aren't people who have worst experiences. It's BS that this is their policy... it's obvious that this is a ploy to deter people from quitting. Having to staff CS reps to handle cancellations costs much more than having it automated, so any company in their right mind would have automated the process.
I agree 100% - just that the stories from those abroad having to pay for these calls is criminal in my eyes. I have not heard one of one smooth cancellaton story from there. But with TIme Warner behind this ya know it;s the same AOL process and CSRs taking the calls - it was painfully obvious the first time I called.
I;m just saying that if someone says that it the process is smooth - they must be doing it from NA - and don;t be so closeminded as to think that it works the same for everyone.
Really do hope this game will succseed and really get up to potential it could be.
Well If devs all companys involved etc keep improving stuff and listen etc it will kick ass and be stable to play for years. One of the main things is advertsing etc which they pretty mcuh got down tons of people know the movies etc so itll go on most likely etiher it be maxtrix die hard fans and anybody else who gets hooked.
EnB got axed for reasons that the company did on purpose to EnB they never really advertised for the game they did some after release but after a bit very very barrne advertisment or anything to gain recognition for that game and to even tell it at least existed will always rember that game though.
They gotta get a cancle subscription online thing goin defently. good way to try or keep suscribers or deter some people from canceling lol will also keep some away for a while from subscribing but no matter what most will just go through the pains to do whatever way. Dont be so quick to cancel quit Matrix barley came out 2 3 months or so ago but whatever y adoin playin have fun and try to commit har har hehe.
Dialed the 800 number, talked to a guy who was pretty cool, said I wanted to unsub, and not 30 seconds after I hung up I got the email saying I had been unsubscribed. Wasnt that bad....
