We all share a common interest: MMORPGs. However, I'd like to see how different we really are in terms of minor interests and hobbies etc.

My dad let me and my brother play this game called Gorillas on his IBM. We were 4-5 years-old.

Guild Wars 1. It is also the only MMORPG I've ever been actually "hooked on" (and some people say GW1 is not a MMORPG - ha!).

I don't think those short encounters could be considered "fights". I'm quite tall. People don't want to fight me.

I guess I spend a lot of time sitting in front of my computer so maybe; my computer.

#1. If you had to pick one pure MMO game-type, what would it be?
I like Softcore Sandbox and Softcore Theme Park games. Thus, SandPark sounds nice.

My dad bought me my first computer when I was in 5th grade (I think he really bought it for himself). We played the heck out of King's Quest IV, Police Quest, and all the Quest for Glory series. Pretty much anything that had a Sierra title.
#3. What was the first non-MMO computer game that had you completely hooked (if any)?
I started FPS with GoldenEye 64. My friends used to piss me off my watching where I was on my screen. I remember thinking "I would decimate these n00bs if we each had our own monitor. Thus, Unreal Tournament came out and I was hooked... for about 8 years.

Star Wars Galaxies. I remember thinking, "What?!? They have in-game email?!?"
#5. What was your favorite console game (if any)?
Venture for the Collecovision. If you waited too long in any given area, a gigantic spider would appear and chase you down. I used to be so fricken' scared of that thing. I liked Kid Icarus a lot for the NES.

Rachael Weisz. She played in "The Mummy". I've always thought she was a natural beauty. I can't stand that fake and manufactured look. Ugh.

Gushers fruit snacks.

Pearl Jam (Not their radio crap).
#9. What is your favorite song?
Jesus Culture: One Thing Remains - I never get sick of it.

A toss-up between The Ten Commandments and The Ghost and the Darkness.

I've played guitar for 20 years... only to become a drummer. I really enjoy percussion.

Yes. Middle School. Lunch was $1.05. My mom would never give me a simple dollar bill and a nickel. It was always an a$$load of change inside these long yellow envelopes. I would never use the change to buy lunch. I would just stand in line at the vending machines. Anyways, the line was extra long and I was extra bored. Call it an irresistible impulse, but I decided to tilt my change-filled envelope to the side so that all the change fell to the lower end. I then twisted the envelope over and over to make a makeshift mace. I have no idea why I did this, but I swung it at my friend's ear (he was standing in line in front of me). He grabbed his ear and started sobbing. I couldn't believe I had hit him for no reason. I didn't realize it would hurt so bad.
In a fit of obvious rage, he turned into The Hulk and blasted me in the face. My head hit the floor. I was knocked out. I remember fading back into life and seeing my friend sitting on my chest with both of his hands around my neck. Principal stopped the fight, took us both to the office, watched us both cry, and told us to get to class. Still friends!

Yes. 1997. High School girlfriend told me, "I love you... but I'm not 'in love' with you". It hurt so bad.

I would like to say, "The best drummer". However, I don't think that I would appreciate as much if I did not completely work for the skill. Thus, I will say, "The best mathematician".

My drum kit. Custom built Acoustic to Electric conversion with mesh heads! It doesn't anger the wife as much. But if someone had stolen it... I wouldn't be terribly upset. It's just stuff...

A marble Statue with bronze robes that my Great Grandfather found without an arm so he sculped a new marble arm for it. It is about 2' tall and weighs 50 lbs. Runner up, a clay head of a renaissance boy that he sculpted.

Theme Park, I suppose, though I'll try anything.

In the fourth grade, back when dinosaurs walked the earth, I got to play a Star Trek text game using a thermal-printer terminal connected via aucustic-coupled modem to a PDP11/04. Hi-tech, dontchaknow. Pretty sure that was the first time I played a computer game and I was dazzled.

Eh, there were a ton of text based adventure games on the Apple II+ I played endlessly, wrote more than a few myself.
#4. What was the first MMORPG that had you hooked?
Debatable whether it qualifies, but for the purposes of this discussion I'll say it does -- GW1. Played it with my husband for around three years.
#5. What was your favorite console game (if any)?
Kind of a toss-up between DK64 and Parasite Eve II.

Eh, I've always had a serious thing for Kevin Sorbo, even though I usually don't go for the big dumb type.

Peanut butter. Can't even have the stuff in the house or I'll go after it.

Eh, these days probably Alter Bridge, or possibly Angels & Airwaves. Either way, subject to change without notice.

Sparring and competition fights a long time ago when I was into martial arts, but otherwise thankfully no.

Eh, writer, I suppose. I'm good, occasionally great, but nothing I've published will likely be remembered after I'm gone. Would be nice to suddenly write something so good it would outlast me.

A necklace charm my husband gave me many years ago. It's Russian (though bought in Iceland, of all places), a small intricate gold egg and inside it a small gold turtle. It means the world to me.

I can't remember. Pong was the first game but I guess Summer Olympic was the first computer game. First RPG was Return of Hercules.

Hard to say. Realms of Impossibility for old school pc, and likely Doom or Ultima 7 for x86.

Art, writing, music composing. Used to be basketball but I don't know if that counts as gaming.

Yep. Had a confrontation at work with a crazy guy bother the building today.

Probably my cellphone.
It wasn't a shock or anything, he'd been being treated for terminal cancer for almost ten years, but even knowing it was coming it was still harder to deal with than I'd ever imagined. In a lot of ways I still haven't dealt with it, I'm in the process now of selling my house and moving across the country to be closer to family in hopes of kind of jump-starting my life.
Oddly -- or perhaps not, I dunno -- his death had a huge effect on my gaming. I never realized it, but gaming was always a spectator sport in my house. Even when I wasn't playing something like an MMO with him -- and he was ten years older than I and not very skilled or more than minimally interested in playing video games -- he watched, commented, and was a part of things. Absent that, my interest in pretty much all forms of gaming tanked and has only really started to recover in the last four or five months. And even there I find myself avoiding playing GW1 or WoW, two games we played together extensively, as there are just too many potential emotional triggers.
Weird the way things are weaved together in your life that you aren't even really aware of until they're gone.

My elementary school rewarded kids with time playing educational apple games, but I was so little I don't remember which one I played first. Could have been the math haunted house one, or Number Munchers or Odell Lake or Invisible Bugs. At the same time I had an Atari: Frogger, Galaga, and Joust were two of my favorites.

#9. What is your favorite song? Hardest question on the list for me. Maybe Under Pressure, the version where Queen, David Bowie, and Annie Lennox were singing together.

#11. What is your favorite TV show? I don't watch TV, but if animes that were originally shown on TV count, then maybe Red Riding Hood Chacha or Eyeshield 21 (had to wrack my brain for one that didn't spoil itself by killing off major characters, that usually ruins a show for me).

#14. Have you ever had your heart broken? Romantically, I've had unrequited crushes but none where it was a surprise that the other person wasn't interested in me. But in terms of having dreams destroyed yes, I've got heart fragments rattling around in my chest.

I want to be the best at having other people think my ideas are awesome and give me money to pay workers to develop them.

SandPark - I think this is the next evolution of game play. There's nothing wrong with being able to follow a well written story, and make changes to the world!

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.- FARGIN_WAR

I considered saying composer, because it has always frustrated me that I have some kind of music disability and it's the only creative art that I just can't do. I've written song lyrics, but not had any luck hooking up with a band that needs a lyricist. I would have fun composing a Gilbert-and-Sullivan style opera, or rock/metal songs.

Static modeling and texturing (animation is tedious and I dislike doing it).

Iv'e been beat down, and Iv'e given some beatings as well (bout 50/50)...Never actually been in anything that wasn't completely one sided. Never have been in something that I would feel correct in actually call a fight (like with a mutal exchange of blows or dancing around each other or anything like that).

Best teeth...mine are terrible. I have an edge on edge bite, and grind in my sleep. I don't have a tooth that isn't shattered, temp dented in, broken in half, or missing fillings. You learn to live with constant pain. But would be nice to try doing so without that.

My circa 1875 camel back, steamer trunk. It has served me very well. And, will probably be extremely useful for years to come.
