    Ignorant misinformation annoys me.

SOE gave funding for 6 months after MS pulled out because brad failed to submit a playable demo that was bug free.  After the horrible launch SOE bought sigil and all of its property including vanguard.

If SOE did not step in and buy them out by paying off the debt sigil had the game would of been canceled and would no longer exist.

SOE HAD NOTHING TO DO with development until post launch period.

Almost nothing -- SOE loaned some game designers and developers to Sigil to help get things ready for launch. Sigil contained full development control however.  (check out the Wikipedia page for a time line)  SOE didn't take fully over until 4 months after launch.

They are trying to ruin Cleric like every other MMO. Pantheon Cleric should be just like EQ classic Cleric, aka the opposite of every modern MMO. Not some robed hybrid, or 2 handed dps class. But a fully armored, highly sought after group class that puts all other healers to shame.

Watering Cleric down with all these stupid "talent specs" just dumbs down the class for the people that actually enjoy dedicated life saving.

Dungeons and Dragons..... and you call yourself a gamer?

Not that your response has anything to do with Pantheons themepark class design but:

Clerics in D&D don't wear robes or use 2 handers/staves or tomes. The fact you could power build them into dps was never intended and not in the spirit of the Cleric class anyways. Still I'd even prefer the D&D Cleric over WOW talent specs or running around with a robe, scepter and tome like it's GW2 something =P

In both Basic and AD&D, clerics could use staves and two-handed weapons as long as they weren't edged. In 3E they were proficient with all simple weapons and could be proficient with other weapons depending upon chosen domains or feats. I can't tell you about 4E because I never really played it.

Not to rain on Brad's parade, but not a fan of the high fantasy look at all. It just looks like more of the same old replaceable mmos that failed to make a huge blip in the genre.

i believe he was talking about Vanguard maybe you have been hiding but after everyones apparent MMO Savior destroyed the game and ran away SOE came in and did the best they could to keep it up and running.

because game companies have found that that there are maybe like 20 people out there who like sitting back behind the rest of the group cowering like a school girl pressing their heal key over and over. companies have found out that style of gameplay sucks and is really boring.

people want action and want to feel like they are actively participating in a fight instead of "watching health bars".

I don't see you as being rain on his parade.  You are not the target audience for what the game is going for. Especially if you think that is just going to be another cookie cutter generic MMO.   Its not going to be a game where you can max level in a week and there will be some challenge in the early to mid game.

By putting it on life support with a skeleton crew for years and years and finally giving the skeleton crew a few more members recently and a few press releases to try to make people think they give a crap... then yeah.

Looks pretty rough to me, he can not afford decent animation experts or decent quality digi artist (I don't care how alpha the game is, no excuse). The game will just be added to the pile of the same thing already out there. Good luck Pantheon you are going to need it.

I'm on the edge of my seat with anticipation.

Hopelessly unoriginal, what is next, a merchant who trades? Lets find more far out reasons to call this project a fail.
