What MMO/MMORPG are you currently playing?

I've been really bored lately and I've been looking for a new game to play. It's hard to find a game that I'd like out there since there's so many options. I thought I'd ask you guys what you were playing to make my choice easier. So, what game are you currently playing? Why are you playing it? What's keeping you hooked to it?

    Currently playing Wakfu Online.

                Pros:

-15 different classes with a lot of sandbox type features, i.e. you pick your own spells, specialties to level up.

-Turn based combat. Gives room for a lot of different strats depending on the class, and team make up.

    -Pretty good community.

    -Decent developer team

-Subscription is only something like 6.99$ a month. You CAN play for free, but it is more of an extended demo.

    -Lots of customization through

-You have your own little area to do with what you please. Kind of like a house, but not. You add gems to it to expand, and put different areas in (crafting/merchant/gardening/merchant/decoration areas).

-Fairly good community, i.e. everyone willing to help out most of the time.

    -Tons of crafting

       Cons:

-Fairly grindy if you play by yourself

-No meaningful PvP as of yet. They have plans to put PvP into the game in a meaningful way though

-Class balance is hit or miss, though they do revamp a class every one or two months

-Content gets a little dry between dungeon updates

    Also playing Uncharted Waters Online

This game is one you will have to try out for yourself. Hard to explain it without walls of text as the game is very, very in depth. It is a nautical/land based game set in mostly historically accurate times ( I believe we are in the 1200's right now, the upcoming expansions will add from 1200-1800 or something like that).

There are three "spheres" to level in: Trader, Adventure, Battle

Trader is just that. You are basically either doing merchanting (sailing from port to port with goods) on trade routes, or crafting. Crafting is basic for the most part, but different ports sell different items to make what you need. Some items only drop from NPC's or shipwrecks. I believe there is blacksmith, sewing, handicraft, alchemy, and cooking (probably missing something). The crafting gets fairly in depth as you go along. By indepth I mean you need to unlock areas with reputation, get recipe drops from other places, etc, etc.

Adventure has a lot to it. Hard to explain, but you basically follow quest lines, or maps to discover creatures, relics, ancient structures/items, etc. There is also shipwrecking where you put pieces of a map together, and then have to locate where the wreck is, and pull it up. More to it than what I could type, but you get the general idea.

Battle has two types, naval, and land. You can pretty much figure that one out for yourself.

It is a very fun game, but it takes a lot of time. While some people may think that is a bad thing, I do not. It gives you a sense of accomplishment when you level up, or unlock certain discoveries. Graphics are a bit outdated, but not so bad you won't want to play. That is, unless you are a graphics whore.

This is a free to play game with a cash shop. The cash shop is just like any other. Sells boosters, etc. The game did just change publishers. The previous publisher was piss poor, and they are basically shut down now. The new publisher shows promise, but only time will tell.

Either way those are what I am playing. They are both really good games imo. UWO is my go to, wakfu is my time killer.

If you get in to Wakfu feel free to shoot me a pm. I will help you where I can.

I am currently waiting on my characters to be transferred back into UWO, so can't log on until the new publisher gets around to it.

FFIX in a desultory way, and Guild Wars 2 in the same fashion.  I think I'm about done with the genre for awhile.  Time for me to move on, in so many ways.

Eldevin takes most of my time but if yuo count Path of Exile as an mmo as apposed to a f2p rpg then that too.

"What MMO/MMORPG(s) are you currently playing?"

Until WildStar releases I am casually playing these three... (unless I find something that tickles my fancy more)...

Wurm Online. Still in love with this one even though... nevermind. It's a great sandbox MMORPG in it's own fashion. The Hook for me is the virtual world itself, that I am responsible for myself, no hand holding, that I can create my own home, grow crops, hunt the wildlife and mobs, sail, on and on. So many things to do, great community.

LotRO, mostly because I play with my Wife and RL friends, and if not for them I would have left it by now... I just don't agree with how WB/Turbine has changed the game over the years or how much they remind us the LotRO Store exists. I love Tolkien so I am enjoying myself even with some new content I do not agree with. For me the Hook is Tolkien's Middle Earth... Turbine did a fantastic job with the world itself.

    and

SWTOR. I play this strictly as a single player game since out of all the MMOs I have ever played I have had the worst experiences with other players in this one as compared to all others. Even joining a few Guilds was painful. So for me SWTOR is a terrible MMO but a great single player game. The Hook for me is enjoy the companion system, even though I feel the companion system is actually the one thing that makes this game less of a MMO than it could have been... other Hook is old republic era of Star Wars... sort of...

    hope that helps.

    Everquest 2

    upside:

there is more content than you can shake a stick at.

they have mercenaries you can hire to adventure with.

the crafting is pretty good, not Vanguard/SWG good, but still pretty darn good. and much of what you make while leveling is actually useful and usable.

the game is a hybrid f2p.

nothing in the shop so far is game changing imo.

one sub for 14.99USD gives you access to almost all of SOE's games, plus ingame perks, plus 500SC accruable to spend in the shop each month or save.

it's a themepark with a lot of varied options. personally i love the AA system they have that parallels your class leveling.

quite a few races and classes to choose from.

    downside:

it's old and for some the graphics are too dated. i dont feel that way.

    the population is top heavy.

they have mercenaries you can hire to adventure with.

the game is a hybrid f2p.

    it's a themepark.

DDO for the last few weeks. I am finding it different enough from the standard MMO and close enough to actual D&D  to hold my interest.

Atm. Came back to WoW. Just doing bgs with friend for fun. Only reason I can find to my comeback is that WoW has smooth gameplay. Next thing I might try is ESO (because of pvp).

Technically, I am not playing ANY (if you don't count the beta mmo I am in now). I have yet to find a current MMO that I like and it seems it is getting harder and harder to do so....and that includes the one I am beta testing.

Let's party like it is 1863!

    World of Warcraft.

Still the best western MMO with the highest playerbase and  content.

I dip into Lord of the Rings online because of the setting, Vanguard because of the world, Ryzom because of "everything" (only game where I can really feel like I'm out lost in the wilderness) and Aion because some friends wanted to go back to a f2p game.

To be honest I've been doing more modding/playing single player games.

Resubbed to WOW. With the cross realm mailing of heirloom gear it has been nice to just start fresh on a new server.

Also supporting Gloria Victis, which will be a big surprise for people looking for realistic medieval feel.

Paid for DayZ. Its a fun 30minute - 25minute session.

    Have GW2 installed.

Also messing around with Unity3D. Making my own world. Its been fun!!

Currently playing GW2 and Swtor (preferred status), but im not playing every day. I have been playing a lot of Melty Blood: Actress Again Current Code, Dayz (the mod, not paying $30 but an alpha of standalone), Injustice: God Among Us, and a few PSX / PS2  classic JRPGs.

I've been going steady with Vendetta Online since 2003. I play it because it has good physics, an involved community, and rich history and culture. It's pretty close to what I've looked for in a space sim since the days of Master of Orion 2 and Escape Velocity. At its high points, it's the most enjoyable game I've played by a fair margin.

Wushu, but things are slowing down a bit for me. I'm at the top, waiting for the June expansion. Thinking about picking up Nether, hoping to kill some time before ESO. Then ESO&Wushu until one of these new, good looking sandboxes comes out.
