Just like MMOs have to get away from trying to out-WoW WoW, everyone else has to get away from judging MMOs based on whether they are "the WoW killer".
WoW's time has come and gone, right now it's pure inertia that keeps it going.
Remember when everyone had a walkman? Yea, it's like that.

This, although I'd put the mark at 1-3 months.
If designers keep rehashing this tired, played out nonsense, expect the MMO genre to continue to decline.

Any developers with creativity left out there? Hello?! Bueller?
I personally feel the game has a bit more staying power than 1 - 3 months. In my opinion it isn't nearly as bad as SWTOR was and will end up being a nice success for Carbine Studios. Having beta tested Wildstar for a bit of time I honestly can't say that its a title I would pay for but I think others will be tickled pink about it.
I think we need to request bulletein point writing.
On the internets, ppl write 1 sentence paragraphs to keep our attention. However, maybe there is a lot to say and seeing a hundred 1 sentence paragrahs is still a lot with even the ncie dressing one sentence paragraphs.
So bulletin points. Its soemthing that ppl of the internets need to start using to make it easier to get their point/s across.
Write bad things that are done to you in sand, but write the good things that happen to you on a piece of marble
Judging from my brief time with the beta, I'd say it'll be around for years and be one of the more successful MMORPGs. It's brightly colored, it's fast-paced, and it's loud. It's not my cup of tea, but I expect it'll be popular.
It's not going to unseat WoW, or even make it to move over an inch. But I expect it'll find it's niche easily enough, and do fine as a primarily subscription-based MMORPG for the foreseeable future.

Fair point, but can you decorate your real home? And invite your friends inside to see what it is like?
WHAT?! You say you can? And invite people for barbecues too? "Real life" you say... Lemme check this thing...
