What MMO were you incredibly hyped for, but disappointed by more than any other?

Age of Conan was hyped hard and they didnt tell me they hadnt bothered to finish it or that melee's were gimped by stamina and as a caster I could just run and if they ran after me they wouldnt be able to do anything because their stamina was gone and they would just melt.

Warhammer Online I love the IP it just wasnt as good as it should have been and they never bothered to fix things in it.

that said I still have memories of fun times in each of them

    GW2 for me.

Had really high hopes for it, but didn't like the result.

Aion and gw2.  Seeing how i'm an avvid pvp'er many may not share my same view.  Aion was a rediculously long grind just to get to the endgame and find out that pvp was so rediculously balanced it was not worth playing. gw2 on the other hand had good balance but not enough incentive. For how long it was in production and for all the other models they had to go off of they really should have fed some meat to the carnivores in terms of pvp elo system or rankings or something right from the get-go.

Earthrise.  I wanted a sci-fi sandbox.  What I got was a grindy, laggy shooter instead.  Very pretty game world, though.  I enjoyed wandering around in it, but I knew it was going to be a short stay when I realized I couldn't even go into any of the pretty buildings, much less have a home or apartment in one.  What a waste of a perfectly good setting.

I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.
