The digital edition I think is worth the money. Preordered.
Although I am curious, with the ability to play any race in any alliance, is the PvP only, or is it PvE as well?
That will likely be a cash shop option in the future for those who had issues with not being any race in any faction.. But they won't be happy about it.
some one will explain me this ? This is Eu prices transferred in dollars
instead of crying why not read and compare each package and what it entails?..
<.<
I'm asking why Europeans must pay more ? as if we have better salary here than people in USA.. my native country 250 $ average salary where I'm now 450 euro average.
VAT. In EU you have that tax included in price of products, US prices usually don't include it since it varies between states and they have no VAT on digital goods.
The big issue with preorder for some of European countries that aren't part of euro zone (as in they still use their national currencies) is that they are forced to pay higher price or skip on the goodies and hope some distributor in their ocuntry picks the game up for at least retail (meaning missing out on whatever digital exclusives might be there and the luxury of instant access over having to get the physical copy)
Really nice digital deluxe edition bonuses, but imho it feels too much like day 1 DLC: Pay more or you won't get marriage -ability, new crafting style, and ability to alter how your gear looks.

American standard digital version is $60 (£35), UK standard digital version is £50. Why is there such a large price difference for the same product? Even with tax added @ 20% still only takes it to £42. Rip off.

Lets get it right, you are paying 20 dollars extra for all the imperial perks and the rings and pet.
Don't forget an account wide mount. (and a nice one at that)
Blizzard usually charges 25$ for those.
So no, not such a bad deal at all - but do keep on fixating on the race.
You mean the racial locks that the entire game is based on because they MUST do it?
Give me a break. The game was a money grab from the start by using the IP to remake DaoC, this is just more proof nothing they have said means a thing.

Here is one thing to remember; they already announced that part of endgame is being able to play your character through the other faction's storylines. Which means they already had any race in any faction, they just made you play to 50 to unlock it on a character by character basis. The pre-order just let's you start out with the combo you want, rather than making you level to 50 to get it.
Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
They are giving me a coupon for 25% off the game, so the Digital Deluxe edition's price goes down to 60$.
You guys might want to check it out.
Double post.. it's not spam, I just received the email! I can link the 25% coupon also
Sorry for the double or triple post, just want to make sure it is not flagged as spam, because well.. it wasnt, I thought that people who wanted a deal on the pre-order would like one..

Well there is also the thing called regional adjustment based on economy of the region. According to quick google search minimum wage in US is ~7.25 USD per hour which comes to about 4.37 quid, while in UK minimum wage per hour is something above 6 quid.
Same reason why say in country like Poland a new, 60$ release game will cost you about 35-40$ on average.
It's not always fair, and in general may not whole lot of sense from costumer point of view, but if we were to agree to on single pricing, which country we could choose as the standard? Because unless it would be the lowest one (which potentially could hurt the industry in other countries) someone will always get screwed on the prices.
Because of all those little differences and legal issues digital distributors prefer not to be arsed with making separate pricing for every single country out there. Usually the pricing plan is based on that country in which the distributor is registered in for Europe.
Preorders for Bethesda's Elder Scrolls Online have finally opened. According to the ESO site, a digital standard edition of the game can be purchased for $59.99, the Imperial digital edition for $79.99.
Both editions include five days of early access and 30 days game time. The Imperial edition also allows players to game as an Imperial, includes a mount, pet, a pair of rings, the ability to "transmog" into Imperial armor and gives players an Imperial crafting set.
What is the Explorer’s Pack?

The Scuttler , a tiny but loyal vanity pet
Four bonus treasure maps that will lead the player to loot

I like the idea of getting Black Flag free, but unfortunately that won't put a statue on my desk.

...and everyone of you that is complaining, I will GUARANTEE that in your private lives, you will be out there, purchasing the CE and loving the extra stuff, while, publically you spew forth hate and trollage, for what? Nobody cares - just spend the extra money and DONT POST!!
Looks like they are trying to cash in hard as long as they still can.
If behind that heavy pricing there would be actual confidence in the product, they would have dropped the NDA before enabling preorders.
If they lacked confidence in the product, they would be offering a lifetime subscription. And no, I won't change that opinion if they suddenly offer a lifetime sub, it will be a sure indication that they expect the free option to come sooner rather than later. (The later is inevitable, for every game.)

Originally posted by bigcheeseuk £50 for the standard edition here in the UK. Quite pricey compared to what we are used to. MMOs usually retail at about £30-40 on release.
You people must be in fantasy land, anyone who crys about prices, really, really needs a new hobby...
Games since WOW came out in 2004, have always been 50 -60 bucks, collectors, 70 -100 or more...
It was about 10 bucks a month back in the day, then went to 12 or 13 , but its been 15 bucks now for over 10 years... Its should be more because of all the costs involved with making games...
I can't understand with people and that free to play mind, when you start working, you will want to get paid to...

Really and thats is why, WOW is sub base, and EVE, oh and even Asheron call 1, after 14 years, its still sub based.
I perfer subs that way have to deal with whiney little people, who whine about prices.
When I got get a nice rib dinner for my wife and I I spent about 50-60 bucks, so i'm a bit confused how people think for a game, thats is expensive.
Game engines, cost thousands, and thousands, for each software that is needed, 3DS Max, Maya, animation software, Photoshop, little programs here and there, all cost over 3k , they need to buy these programs for each person..
Next they need to buy programs, like NDO2, AND Dd20, and the list goes on...
I would love for you to make a game, and listen to people whine about the costs of a game, that costs millions to make, and they need to pay DEVS, advertisement ,servers, etc , etc..
I mean cmon people, really, I played baseball and bowling as a kid, and I had to spend 120 bucks every 6 months for a new bowling ball, I had t buy equipement, baseball even worse, because I was a catcher, and this was 20 years ago..
Your hobbys are dirt cheap and yet people whine!! Work for living would ya!

Aye too right... I'm not pre-ordering for that much.... I can easily afford it but thats steep.
I'll buy a box on release day since I can pretty much guarantee it will cost me much less.

60€ is an outrageous price to ask for a PC video game in my neck of the woods. For comparison, I got TSW for 35€ (plus preorder boni).
I was going to wait for TESO's price to drop to reasonable levels before purchase, but after reading this, I won't be getting it at all.
60€ as bare minimum, with essential features being locked behind a pay wall?
Shameless money grab.

I just checked, thats a good move! You saved on another good title while waiting on the game.
I might just get the GMG version, that way the deluxe will be the same price as the standard.

Just for 20 more bucks you are able to get what was supposed to be in the game from the start:
PLAY AS AN IMPERIAL
Become an Imperial and play in any Alliance. Gain unique bonuses, crafting styles, gear and more.
CRAFT IMPERIAL GEAR
Ability to craft Imperial style when crafting gear.
TRANSFORM INTO IMPERIAL GEAR
Transform any gear you own into Imperial styled gear.
Looks like they are trying to cash in hard as long as they still can.
