Any Americans playing?

Is it only Europeans playing or is anyone from the USA in?  I'm asking because of all the unaccepted credit card tech issues plus game crashes after patch on the official English forums.  I bought the game and want to join up but can anyone from North America get the game to work?  Even the cashier at GameStop who sold me the game said he wished he had never taken his out of the package.  Should I wait another month or so to try and start my sub?  I'm planning on using crysta with Ultimate Game Card.  I know those of us in the USA aren't getting the FFXIV-ARR Game Card yet.

Yes, I am from NA, I am playing 14.

I have two room mates and three other friends all IRL playing it as well, none of them had any problems getting accounts or playing or paying.

Does it even work in the USA?  Are you serious?  Of course it does, they wouldn't sell it here if it didn't.

I honestly have no idea what 'problems' you are talking about, again, NO ONE I know has any issues with the game.

I have a friend who works at a local gamestop, he recommends this game to customers on the daily...

If you are having problems... i'm really sorry to hear that.  I don't know what issues you may have. 

 

However, I frequent these forums, the official forums, and reddit, and from my experience you are in the extreme minority.  My FC has 130 members.  99% of them are from NA.  None of them have ever had the issues you're talking about.

 

This game is VERY popular in the NA.  I think worldwide, it has 400-600k subscribers.  I'm guessing there are probably 200-250k people from NA.

 

At it's peak, FFXIV had 660k+ subscribers world wide.  The servers are packed, the zones are packed, .....

 

Hopefully you get a chance to log in, but i'd go over to customer support section of the official forums.  You'll get the best help there.

I don't have issues I haven't even started subbing yet.  I've heard of everyone else's sob stories and thought maybe I need to wait a month after Square Enix fixed the problems with their game:

Stability Loss After Patch

 

Other problems plus the guy who sold me the game said it was screwy.

I've never had any issues and with game time cards now in the states as well you should always be able to go that route.

The answer is that it doesn't work well in the U.S. there are huge latency issues with this game the servers are in Quebec and everyone I know that tried to do endgame that did not live in the Northeast had to either be carried or use a ping reducer like battleping or wtfast.  On the other hand there really isn't that much PvE endgame and that might not even be your thing.

I live in southern california and have had no issues... currently in coil turn 4 and doing Titan Extreme tonight.

Ive maxed out my main character in lvl 90 gear .  And levelled up 4 other characters .

 

Not really anything more to do , I need to wait for expansion now I guess .

Well I am trying to get it to work on a PS3 and at the point where it is suppose to be updating the game's patches I get a blank screen with scroll bars but the music is still playing.  I guess I'll leave it running all night I'm afraid to shut it down in case it's doing some updating that I can't see.  At first there was an update circle so maybe it's still going???

Left my PS3 on for about four hours then restarted.  Got another patch.  Game works fine.  No lag.  Not as many people playing as I thought there would be but maybe that's good.  Friendly community.
