Wildstar reminds me of a PS3 Platform action game like "Ratchet and Clank". When I played ESO beta immediately I was hooked. Believe me unless your a big fan of games like "Ratchet and Clank" "Crash bandicoot" "Dexter" "Free Realms" ect... your going to be very disappointed Wildstar. Last just because they have like 17 ex-WoW devs working on Wildstar don't expect it to be as good, its not even close.

a month after launch nobody is going to give a shit about pre-orders, most people probably don't give a shit now. meanwhile, wildstar will continue to have cheesy cartoony graphics, no thanks, not my cup of tea.
sucks for you that all you care about is graphics. must be hard for you to find your perfect game.

But I guess thats how it is for some people. they just cant really handle settling down with something, they would just be more satisfied to search endlessly.

funny thing is, i am not one of those people. i am not picky but i just don't care for cartooney graphics.

like i said, its just not my cup of tea, which is why i am looking to play this instead.

agree with your first point. i am a EQ1 vet and i just can't get exited about EQN for the same reason.

but at least that game is F2P so i can try it and maybe i can make an exception if there is a character model i can live with.

    doubt it tho.

I want to like Wildstar badly because of how awesome the devs are but imo the game has few issues.

First of all, there is a lack of lore when compared to IPs like SW, WoW, ES or even GW. The cartoon-ish graphics while looking cool further take away from the immersion for me. Many people have also complained about quest hubs feeling exactly like what the name suggests. Sure, the combat might be fun but Wildstar lacks immersion for me. Because of that, i am not sure which one will come out on top, atleast for me....

I haven't played ESO so why would I make a pros and cons about it ?

I know this . Elder Scrolls has a lot of past history and mostly good .

Wildstar is totally new type of franchise/story .   Even WOW had a past history .

    The big difference...

    - One of these games is designed with only a single goal ... it needs to be fun

-One of these games is designed to be a lore filled immersive world where your character should feel part of that world..

In this it totally reminds me of how EQ2 vs WoW where set appart at their release..

i.e. it are two totally different games, almost impossbile to compare.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Some more Wildstar pros over TESO:

    -  WAY more end game content, especially 20-40 man raids

    -  Better designed PvE (I know this is arguable, but I think once people play both this will be a no brainer for most)

    -  Housing

    -  Lots of minigames in the form of challenges.

    -  Unique dungeon/adventures that break away from the standard dungeon crawling.

Both are under NDA (though Wildstar has press members able to stream and reveal info about the game) so it's hard to really get down into the nitty gritty on the pros and cons of both.

Hello all, I have played a bit of ESO and I like it so far. Yes the graphics are nice which for me is a good thing. I didn't spend my time on crafting in ESO ,but I did look at it and made a couple junk items. It seems like it could be good maybe even semi complex toward higher skill levels and not simple like skyrim. I could be wrong though.

It seems all MMO's are crap these days tech keeps jumping higher and higher ,but engines and such are not being used in more depth as in we are still playing the same games from 15 years ago only each new version is slightly better than the last base mechanics are the same though.

200 million and what do we get voice acting ,nice graphics ,and a new twist on tired mechanics. Why all because the company wants everyone to play their game so they can have the mighty WoW number$. The indie kickstarter games all say the right things to get our money ,but we all know in are heart they will fail to deliver most of it. Plus it will be broken and buggy with promises it will be good down the road after a crap ton of patches if it even gets finished. I just don't see why 1 million kickstarter game can do all these awesome things if a 200 million AAA game can't manage to pull it off.

    Soooooooooo True

But atleast I can go watch Wildstar being played... I ve played ESO, I  think the hybrid skill system is cool but its limited by the amount of skills you can equip.

since u have played ESO can u tell us how many skills can u use in combat and how many in wildstar?

    ESO

5 SKills + an ult is on your bar.

    Wildstar

21+ bar assignments... +2 PATH Skills (see youtube for explanation on paths)  based on what I can see from twitch.

and the thing in red should be wrong since according to a brand new article.

    <p blue"="">Combat

Continuing the trend of limiting players to a smaller number of active abilities, WildStar features what Carbine calls the “Limited Action Set” or LAS for short. Each class will have a total of 30 unique abilities (aside from their Innate, Path, or Gadget abilities) they can unlock and they will be able to place eight of those abilities on their bar at any given time. You’ll be able to store multiple different action sets (loadouts, essentially), so if you’re playing an Esper, for example, you could have an entirely separate loadout saved for healing or nuking.  As long as you’re out of combat and not in an arena you’ll be able to switch freely between your limited action sets.

Of course it does, its from a live-action movie.  Also, when he says its better graphically I don't think he means graphical quality in terms of realism.  Hes talking about the whole package including animation and art style, and I agree.  I liked Skyrim's graphics for the most part, but what I've seen from ESO is a pretty huge step down. To a large extent this comes down to preference of course.

Don't make personal attacks because you failed to convince us that cartoony graphics similar to WOWs from 2004 is better than the more realistic graphics offered by ESO. Even most Wildstar Fans wouldn't stretch the truth that far.

If you Liked the greys and browns and dark look from gears of war you would like the graphics in this ESO

If you like Borderlands colorful and viberant art style that are so bright that they give your face a tan while looking at it then Wildstar is your best bet.

Fortunately for me I'm fairly open minded and not totally biased against cartoony animated games and personally I like the style they used.

That said I like the ES style too, I just dont feel like ESO is living up to ip well enough.  But when ZOS stops being super paranoid or shady with their water tight NDA maybe we will see differently.

Lol if you like the realism of how the light shines through the trees as the sun sets, how the water and water reflections look as you move along a body of water, how the special effects from fog looks as you explore the environments, how the detail of the environment looks as you are in first person, play ESO. If you want vibrant colors in a crayola crayon world with dated graphics both visually and technically, play Wildstale.

If you Liked the greys and browns and dark look from gears of war you would like the graphics in this ESO

If you like Borderlands colorful and viberant art style that are so bright that they give your face a tan while looking at it then Wildstar is your best bet.

Lol if you like the realism of how the light shines through the trees as the sun sets, how the water and water reflections look as you move along a body of water, how the special effects from fog looks as you explore the environments, how the detail of the environment looks as you are in first person, play ESO. If you want vibrant colors in a crayola crayon world with dated graphics both visually and technically, play Wildstae.

In a vacuum sure....but were talking about a GAME here with many more and arguably more important features.

More doesn't equal better. It's just means more. Since you guys like to attack with words like 'yay a person with a brain', have you ever heard of the phrase the whole is greater than a sum of its parts? I think ESO offers a better whole.

    There Is Always Hope!

If you play in 3rd person then you see crappy animation that looks like your legs and upper body are separate entities and not part of one body.  After that you notice that everything in the game is colored brown and grey and anything remotely colored is very dull, talk about depressing.

Lol that was funny, about the better graphics part.

    Hurt the truth does

That picture has better graphics than Wildstar. Just saying......

To a large extent this comes down to preference of course.

by GAME I'm referring to the concept of what a game is and has, not specifically Wildstar.

On your comment though, while I think adventuring and "exploring" in ESO will be fun as well as the Cyrodill PVP,  I don't feel those will be enough to compete with the longevity that will be brought with all the dungeons, shiphands, "real" world pvp, warplots, housing, crafting, and raids that Wildstar has to offer.
