It's a fact that it most likely won't exist ?

Can you explain how that is a fact. I've enjoyed reading your other nonsense and would like to see how you explain this one too.

If someone doesn't think gw2 will be around in 2015 I would like to point them to http://iro.ragnarokonline.com/ still alive and kicking long long after it's prime had come and gone, it's actually hard to kill an mmo.  Well, unless you're SOE.

agreed, but will it be huge maybe not cause of everquest next being released and if it's good then it will be tough times for every mmo, atleast until they are bored a few months later.

GW2 will not be dead in 2015, there are games out there that I don't get why they are released at all and they still exist.

    **COUGH COUGH**

    ............................ncsoft

That's not a prediction, it's just, well, they don't have a great track record.

cough cough guild wars 1 is still around. Uses the same payment system. Hasnt been actively worked on for like a year now. But its still up and running. So what makes you think they will turn GW2 off? They both use the same core tech in the background. The resources to keep these games running is much less then most of the other ncsoft games so I would be willing to bet your not going to see them go anywhere anytime soon.

And everquest next. Rofl.. You do know your talking about SOE. The company that just shutdown more then half its stable of games. A company that has lied and pulled some of the biggest BS in history (NGE). I would be more willing to bet that EQ Next is shelved afew more years then GW2 being shutdown.

How short are your years mate it havent even been out a year and a 1/3 yet.

And as much as you want it to cataclysm aint a game its an expansion to the biggest hit mmo on the planet

Not sure why there is so much hate on gw2.

It's essentially 3 games in 1. SPVP, WvW, and the PVE mmo aspect.

Further it was one of the genre changers implementing a slew of new features and concepts that were adapted by others. Dynamic events, albeit still fairly predictable made the world feel more alive and your effort meaningful.

They could have taken it further though. Sure a logging camp gets torched.. woopity doo. There's no huge ramifications to this. Personally I would of loved to see more bridges in the game being destroyed if events go bad. Annoying consequences requiring you to find another route to an objective because people didn't help protect the bridge from raiders or what have you.

As for it being number 1... I don't see the issue. It's a good game that doesn't charge you an arm and a leg to play it, and gives you new content every 2 weeks. Whether you enjoy the content or not is on you. Myself I was bored to tears even attempting to play WoW. It was dated. Old mechanics old systems, just tired and boring. GW2 made people realize that mmos could, and should have more to them than a grind of quests over and over and over and over... then when you reach max level a grind for gear over and over and over to get bigger numbers.

I did say "This is not a prediction"  I never said GW2 is getting shut down nor was I even trying to imply that. But I was referring to a few of the titles NCSoft has terminated in the past few years. There was City of Heroes, City of Villains, Tabula Rasa, and Liniage in NA. There were a couple smaller titles, I played and rather enjoyed to some degree like, Exteel and Auto Assault. I'm sure there are more I am not thinking of. There were enough where I can list them in the same class as SOE

    Edit:

Add, 2 Asian titles, plus Trickster Online and Dungeon Runners to the list making it about ten games NCSoft has shut down.

Yeah I understood your point.  GW2 isn't in any threat of shutting down, its still very popular, just not with MMO die hards that hang out on here.  But any large company with multiple MMOs is bound to shut some down eventually when they stop being viable.

  • squalleonahasqualleonaha Member Posts: 211

i think GW2 deserve on top compare to all the recent released games.

take a look at all the game like SWTOR and FF14 you had to buy box + $15 a month and are they any better? in case of FF14 they even had to remake it.

when you look at GW2, good game, only pay for the box. the cash shop exist but they let you trade gold to buy stuff, you dont have to spend a dim if you dont want to.

as for content they trying to give new content every 2 weeks. it might not as good, but they deserve for trying and working for players.

i wonder what people think about EOS when its even go: box sell + $15 sub + cash shop. and they still hiding behind NDA but trying to grab as much money as possible without giving people change to know it.

I tend to consider myself a "diehard" but I actually like GW2. I didn't at 1st but it grew on me. I am currently playing WoW, but I might end that soon. MoP is VERY raid centered. To a fault actually. And with my work schedule, I just can't do raiding as much as I want. I've been popping back into GW2 a bit more lately. Just this evening, I started to research which class I want to play to do fractals with. (Here is the important part) While the game is, by no means, my favorite, I do like it and it just might be my best fit.

Any other game could have been #1 here but I'm sure threads like this will still get created, so...
  • tom_goretom_gore Member UncommonPosts: 2,001

It's #1 because it's the best MMO on the market at the moment.

I know it's a hard concept to grasp if you don't like the game yourself, but there's no point spamming the forum because you don't like it. Just move on and find a game you like.

Now this is already pretty hilarious. Are you ready to put your money where your mouth is? Let's say, a friendly wager of the loser posting a public apology on YouTube?

    I'm in, how about you?

Seeing that you just created that account to bash on GW2 I doubt that you are going to stand behind your words.

Had a great morning reading OPs responses and so called "facts".

If it's not broken, you are not innovating.

OP needs to come to terms that he is being irrational, and move on.

I will never understand how people can get so obsessive/mad driven about video games. If only everyone was just as passionate about things that could actually make a difference in people's lives.

It's very simple.  Other games for example "Wow" have so many trolls giving it a 0 out of 10.

And GW2 get many supporter just because of their payment model.

GW2 is #1 because it has more people voting it 10 than people voting it 1. It also has the highest vote count of the top 7 games.

And GW2 (1100 votes), TSW (800 votes) and FF14(400 votes) have been going up and down centesimal points daily for a couple of months now.

FF14 with lowest vote count is the easiest to bump up or down.

Eldevin with 58 votes is quite easy to bump up or down.

MMORPG.com system is silly because it allow haters to flock on a certain game and fans of other games to down vote its game rivals.

This site chose Pirates 101 as MMORPG of the year over GW2 but was unable to muster the 20 votes (as of today) required to get a rating,

I guess in the end it just evens out.

    WoW has over 9000 votes.

    Currently playing: GW2
Going cardboard starter kit: Ticket to ride, Pandemic, Carcassonne, Dominion, 7 Wonders

Personally, the only lie that ANet had done was implementing a grinding aspect of the game, namely Ascended gear. But as someone who jumps in WvW mostly, this barely affects me since you're in an army in WvW. A 5% increase in stats is trivial when you're hacking away at the opposition with a coordinated group.

I did stop for two months when they announced the ascended armor. I don't like grinding; I like to play. But when I did the math in gw2skills.net, a fully equipped player with ascended gear has a 5% advantage overall. Yes, a 1v1 between an asceneded-equipped and exotic equipped players, the ascended equipped player will win if both players are of equal skill. You don't 1v1 in WvW unless you're a fully devote roamer.

I recently logged back in and I ignored the whole ascended thing even though my bank is teeming with bloodstone dust and empyreal fragments.

Yes, they lied about no grinding, but it's my choice not to grind. And opting out of the grind does not put me in a disadvantage in WvW. For PvEers, that's a different story.

It had crossed my mind, but I wasn't 100% sure if you did that intentionally or not.
